^^ Good, now hopefully my Ice can beat Edmonton tomorrow night and make it 1/3.

Apologize in advance for the lack of a Leland Irving report from tomorrow night's 'Tips/Giants game, had to give up my tix to go to the Lions game instead.

I was wondering if someone could give me a scouting report on Jyri Niemi. He is a 2008 draft available d-man playing for Saskatoon. He has some pretty impressive stats ( 6 goals and 4 assists ) so far this season. Hmmm.....
Thanks in advance.

Man terrible game for Calgary last night... Dominated in shots (28-14), but couldn't control the puck for the life of them. When they could, Maniago stoned them, and Spence was a sieve. Three bad goals in a 4-0 loss. Ugh.

Blades don't come out this way this season so I'm afraid I don't have much to offer ya, however, they do play on Shaw (against Lethbridge) on Nov. 16.

Few other thoughts:

Moose Jaw in town tonight.. Giants fans are still talking about the Hunt/Sonne scrap from the Silvertips game last Saturday though. Wish I was there to see it.

What's up in Prince Albert! Stripping DePape of the "C" and trading Mike Gauthier (good North Van kid) to the Blazers?

What's up in Edmonton? Hengen and Skrudland quitting the team?

The best thing about my Canes' victory against the Hitmen on Thurs was that the Canes were wearing their vintage jerseys...sweet. Brought back memories of our last good season in 96-97 when we went to the Memorial Cup. I still remember one of the round robin games against Hull. We were down 7-0 going into the third period and we scored 8 unanswered and won. Wow, its been 11 very long years.

Some guy on ebay has been trying to sell a Shane Belter game-worn jersey for months..

I've already got one, actually I bought as a b-day gift for my bro a few years ago. It's great.

I also have a newer blue Canes jersey that I've had for 3 years now. I got it in Saskatoon (why was it there, I dont know) so I got a pretty sweet deal on it. Strangely enough (or is it?), the Canes have lost every game I have worn the jersey to. Wait...it actually got its first win in the Oct. 12 OT win vs the Tiggers. So now ol' blue has a record of 1-big number-0. Maybe the first win is a sign....

I was wondering why they were wearing the old school jerseys.

Don't even get me started on jerseys lol.. The Flames lose out here every time I wear my red Regehr one, but they always win when I tote the white Phaneuf.

Now I'm trying to justify the game-worn Edmonton Ice jersey I bought on ebay last night

Hitmen blow a heartbreaker to Edmonton... Score two goals in ten seconds in the last minute to tie it at 3, then throw the game away by giving up a god awful 2 on 1 that led to the winning goal for the Oiler Kings with 1.4 seconds left.

Homestands like this are why I just cannot begin to like Kelly Kisio as a coach. 180 minutes of very stupid decision making, and zero adjustment from the coaching staff. Same boneheaded mistakes over and over and over and over and over.

Terrible loss thanks to stupid penalties in Kootenay last night, but the Hitmen bounced back tonight, beating Saskatoon 4-1. We still got outplayed though, and the idiot schedule maker was kind enough to have us playing a rested Everett team tomorrow afternoon while we play our third game in three nights. Wonderful.

In other news, if you want to go to the teddy bear toss game in early December, get your tickets now. Only 2500 seats remain, meaning the game has already sold nearly 17,000 tickets. Pretty good chance we finally topple Portland for the single game attendance record on this one.

Got ripped off in Kootenay last night from what I heard while listening to the game on the fan, they tied it late in the game on the PP but a quick whistle took the goal away from Ryan White, a few secs later Calgary got a penalty that erased the powerplay end of story. Quick whistle? No goal? I didn't know Mick Mcgeough also reffed the WHL!!!

Kinda hard to get self righeous about the quick whistle when the go-ahead goal was scored by Kootenay after Calgary took two lazy penalties on the same play while on the powerplay. They did themselves in on that one.

we're 1/2 against you guys now I take it.. Plus a 5-0 thrashing of Portland tonight it sounds like the Ice are finally starting to wake up.

I do get a lot of people asking me how John Negrin is doing though, fair enough considering I work in his home town..

Giants beat Chilliwack again tonight for what it's worth too.

Well, everyone thrashes Portland.... except Medicine Hat.

4-2 loss to Everett last night. Outplayed them massively in the third, but Irving shut the door. Awful second period though where Spence couldn't do the same.

Huge 7-player deal between Portland and Lethbridge today..

To LET: Colton Sceviour, Nick Hotson, Lucas Alexiuk.

To POR: Travis Bobbee, Ryan Kerr, Nick + Jacob Dietrich.

*as per whl.ca

EDIT: not the only trade today either. Moose Jaw picked up Keaton Ellerby from the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for Brady Calla.

Well that should make things more interesting in the Central.

Meanwhile, the Hitmen continue to flounder under the "leadership" of their befuddled coach. If you think the Flames are proving to be a waste of talent right now, come watch the Hitmen...

And proving that such rankings are worthless, the Hitmen are somehow still ranked 8th in the country. Frankly, right now, they aren't even top 30.

Speaking of the Hitmen, and Ellerby's new team, the Warriors/Hitmen game is being televised on Shaw tonight at 7:00 MT. The TV schedule is starting to kick in, here's a link to which games will be shown this season..

A couple days ago Kamloops fired GM & coach Dean Clark. For that don't know, he was an ex-coach of the Hitmen and Brandon.
