UofA SU was this same militant type when I was there.

The bottomline is that if someone wants to join the military, they will do so on their own time. You don't need military recruiters at universities because the majority join out of highschool.

It doesn't hurt at all to gain exposure to potentially older recruits. Put it in their head that a career in the military is not a bad idea.

I don't know, call me old-fashioned, but if a war has to be fought because your country is under a direct and urgent threat then you sign up if you can.

But these kids didn't get involved. They went to frat parties and stats classes. Why didn't they get involved? Because they know this whole Iraq war is a load of rich creamery butter, and they had better things to do.

I don't really know what you are getting at here. Are you trying to tell me that he has influenced the world? If so, thanks, but I knew that. And you can't deny that we'd all be better off if he didn't chicken out when he had the chance to defend freedom from another gathering danger.

Enlisting in the military and going to Iraq kind of limits the number of other issues a person can tackle. No need to apologize. I don't really need to know a lot about these people to insult them though. Just knowing that they are still rah-rah-rah-ing this war while actively staying out of it tells me all that I need to know.
