/\ Is that pretty standard with games now? I've had STEAM ask me if I can sent them my system information a couple of times and I always decline.

I have no problem with that EUP collecting data about my hardware. Whatever makes patches or future game development better then I'm in. Now, if it was collecting personal data or tracking habits, then I would be thinking differently.

There is supposed to be in game ads in the Hellgate demo. May be they are collecting the data to decide which ads to show you on the poster on the wall or whatever.

Will TF2 ever sell separately? And if so any idea for how much? I don't see the point of the Orange Box.

steam lists it at $30.00 ... for the value even if u already have hl2 and hl ep1 its worth it...... they really throw those games in as freebies, meaning you are paying the 45 bux for hl ep2, tf2, portal

I picked up Orange Box yesterday, but I'm getting horrendously bad FPS on TF2. Like, to the point where I can't even track who I'm shooting at. Not to entirely sure, either, given that my computer isn't all that old (4600 Dual Core, 2gigs memory, 256 video card.) I even updated my video drivers and downloaded DirectX 10. I've definitely got some work to do in order to get this playable.

I definitely liked what I saw from the games, though.

What card is it, and what resolution?

Do other Source engine games (HL2, Portal, etc) run ok?

Yup, HL2 and Portal run just fine. It's a GeForce 6200. I bumped down the resolution and settings, and it helped quite a bit, it's still not great, though.

Weird that it would be that different, but TF2 must use some things more than the other two that the 6200 doesn't support very well.

Yeah, i'll just play with the bare minimum for now, and put up with it I suppose. I disabled the High Dynamic setting, and that helped a TON! That said, I'll still probably invest in a better video card here, soon, anyway.

I'm getting severe connection interrupted issues.

Anyone else?

Like every 2 seconds.....at times, sometimes I play for 10 min without anything.

I can play Quake Wars or Enemy Territory no problem. TF2 seems to be the only game where I get so much lag.

you may also want to uninstall DX10 since your card most likely doesn't support it.

No my game runs real smooth.

Only problem I have is the Steam client disconnecting or freezing for some reason. Then TF2 freezes up and I time out. Happens about 1 or 2 times a night for me. Damn annoying.

Well, after play TF2 for awhile now, I can say that it's OK, but not as good as the orignal. The exclusion of grenades and other minor adjustments jsut don't work right for me. I like the new look, but I wished they kept the exact same gameplay.
