Buy a decent electric. It'll last forever and the blades are not very expensive even if you replace them yearly. If you claim they hurt your face go to The Shaver Shop, they'll set you straight.

It's not that they hurt, it's that the shave sucks.

Razor Blades ... even when you buy them in bulk quantities so the unit price is lower, they are still ridiculous.
Cars bought in Canada. Much, much cheaper in the US.

Yes, would someone please explain that to me. It's crazy the price of those peppers. Though here in the middle of some of the best vegetable growing area in Canada, we have lots of roadside stands in the summer, where everything is still warm from the field and much cheaper.

I'm a veg and only the beef tacos go on for cheap! Even though they're the same price originally! Conspiracy.

Most of you guys would crap your pants if you actually knew how much stuff costs. Of course you have to factor in R&D, marketing and other overheads into most products, but the actual manufacturing cost for a lot of consumables is a fraction of the retail sale price.
For instance: I can buy a shirt in China for $5, after it passes through about 3 different middlemen all adding their mark up. This is a shirt that sells for over $150 in Canada, so somewhere along the line someone is making some pretty serious cash.
Clothing, jewelry, electronics, it's all the same. They retail for about 200 times the actual cost of manufacture.

"Import" cars that are assembled domestically.. Especially mercedes..
Houses in calgary.. Come on folks 400K for a 3-4 BR with attach garage.. please..
Alot of people said fuel.. I work on oilsands projects as an engineering contractor.. These projects arent cheap.. say 15 Billion for a 300k BPD SAGD facility.. Plus another 8 Billion for an upgrader to make it into synthetic sweet light. Thats 23 billion is just to make basic crude oil.. Add another 12 billion dollar refinery that can process 300K BPD.. Things add up very fast, and this doesnt even factor in pipelines, storage facilities, service stations ect.. Plus the federal gasoline tax on regular gas is probably close to $0.30 a liter now.. Bitch at Ottawa, not the companies that are forced to compete in an open market. It takes years for these companies to recoup their initial investment.

Back to the razors...
The Gillette Mach 3 is often used a business case in b-schools.
Quote:
In 1998, after more than $750 million of research and testing, Gillette introduced Mach3, the world's first triple-blade razor. It spent $300 million in the first year to promote it.
