I saw that movie from the first row. Absolutely terrible watching. I had no idea who won the fights till they were over, they were just a big shaky blur.

Saw the movie tonight. Pales in comparison to the 1986 animated movie in terms of energy and creativity and direction.
1st half - OH YEAH! 2nd half - bleeercgh. It was like the dance of sharpening knives and random shrapnel and rocks filling the screen for about 1 hour continously. Just a cacophany of horrible sound effects (knives sharpening overused and overused) and shots where you can't tell what's going on. Prime and all the other Autobots look like orangutans since they have to use a mouth because stupid hollywood execs wanted them to "emote". All the robots have zero personality, mismatched indistinct voices that all sound exactly the same, and are just cannon-fodder. Finally, the soundtrack was attrocious. Might as well have been generic direct-to-video sci-fi B movie generic orchestrated music. Snooze fest. The only good part was when Bumblebee was helping Sam with Megan Fox (blistering hot) and played some Cars (Drive) and Player (Baby Come Back).
The human story of Sam Witwicky and his highschool life, his parents, the girl, everything was done amazingly. I almost wish that part was an entirely different movie. The early part where the Decepticons were just an unknown to the army was also great. A lot of great shots of the military, etc. Once Prime and his stupid mouth walked into the picture, the movie was ruined. Don't like the mechanical designs, it's just so busy you can't tell what's going on.

That was essentially my take during the movie... first half kept me in the seat, second half had me itching to leave.

I understand you're saying that you just disliked the movie but I have seen quotes from the producers of the movie saying that it would have been lame to have Megatron as a big gun because then he'd have been dependant on someone 'below' him on the pecking order to fire him or use him in battle and they're right - it would have been lame. Just my opinion, though.
Count me in the "loved it" group. It was perhaps a little long but I'd rather it be a little long than short. Nothing pisses me off like paying $12 to watch an 80 minute 'movie'.

This movie is definiately not kid friendly. No way I would ever take my kid to see this movie. There is some profanity and a couple of sexually suggestive scenes.
As we left the theatre the first thing my friend said to me was how they seemed to try to make it kid friendly but there were some scenes that don't make it worth while to take a kid to.

Perhaps I missed something but does anyone know how bubblebee just started talking all of a sudden? They didn't do anything to him did they?
And how did Megatron snap Jazz? in half so easily? He's strong... but i don't recall him that strong. Megatron pretty much schooled optimus too... then again I haven't seen the cartoons since....... ..... haha a very long time

Yeah, agreed Hesla... seems people either love it or hate it. But to hate it because there were too many "knife sounds"? Come on, you must have been LOOKING for reasons not to like it. haha
As for Bumblebee all of a sudden talking, I read somewhere else that his contact with the allspark somehow repaired his speaking ability. Don't know if that holds water, since he should have been able to start talking at the moment when he "folded" the allspark into a tiny cube.

Megatron is pretty strong. Even in the cartoons he won most of the fights against Optimus. The only distinct clear win I remember for Optimus was during the Transformers animated movie. Also, Jazz is pretty small compared to Megatron. I think on the Transformers website Megatron is the tallest and biggest Transformer in the movie. As for Bumblebee's vocal cords, I took it as his vocal cords were in the process of being self repaired with the help of Ratchet.

No, Optimus lost in that one quite distinctly. Megatron survived for much longer while Prime died in the sickbay mere minutes later in Autobot city from that fight with Megatron. Megatron was still lively to scrap around and yell at Unicron while floating in space...and technically never died. Starscream dumps Megatron from Astrotrain because he's traitorous and always had ambitions to power...Megatron drifts into the maws of Unicron. Has a big argument with Orson Welles (voice of Unicron). Then he gets transformed into Spock...I mean...Galvatron (voiced by Leonard Nimoy).

Define win, Decepticons retreated. Megatron was entirely beaten, and had Hot Rod not jumped in, would have died. Just because Prime died sooner doesn't mean Megatron won since Megatron still ran away.

I watched the movie. I should have hated it. I didn't.
I felt like I was 10 years old again.
It reminded me of what it was like to be happy.

Saw the movie about a week ago. Very fast paced. I would liked to have seen more character development with everyone, especially with the Transformers.
Oh well, guess we will have to wait until Transformers 2 comes out.

Just wondering if there actually will be a second. I know a lot of you say when the second comes out. But is that just speculation?

Saw this movie a couple weeks ago. I was into Transformers when I was a kid, but I had forgotten pretty much everything by the time this movie came out. So I don't have any real attachment to the series. With that said, I was disappointed. There was a lot of potential for this movie, and it felt like it was trying to reach too wide of an audience. Parts for kids, parts for the Transformer fan-boy, and parts for the girl. It should have stuck to one type of audience and done that well, instead trying to reach 3 poorly.
I couldn't get over the cheesy parts of the movie. That was way over done. Why does everyone have to say something witty or clever after every action scene? Even parts that were meant to be serious sounded terribly lame. The part where the main character asks the girl to get into the car and says something along the lines of "in 50 years from now are you going to look back and wish you got in the car?" I almost puked it was so cheesy. And don't even get me started on the orgasming robot on the plane.
Parts I did like, were most of the first half, up until the robots were hiding from the parents in his yard (clearly for children). The action scenes. I really liked all the action, wished there was more of it honestly. The Transformers themselves. I liked the style they went with. I would probably rate this movie 2 out of 5 stars.
