What about Reg calling out the oilers fan (can't remeber his name) but he was OWNED.
amazing_oilers. The had some fan article up on thescore.ca for some reason that said the Flames play the trap. Transplant99 and Reg took him to school on both this board and Oilfans.com because he couldn't explain what the trap was.

He also owes me 10 dollars I think. re:Flames making post seaosn, OIlers not.
An Oiler fan had written an article at Oilfans.com, not the score, with the claim the Flames were a trapping team.

He was savaged on this site AND Oilfans.com

When a certain poster now under a different handle suggested to some of his debate opponents that he knew how to use a knife and don't think he hasn't pulled one before . . . . . well, that made for an interesting evening.
Oh, I had forgotten about that one. Too funny.
I think that was directed at me.

After 3 years at CP I still think that 90% of my posts are ignored anyway. Most of the guys here are really good writers.

Does anyone remember RonMacleansSweater?

He still owes me 10 bucks and when I called him out in April he said he'll mail me the money, I gave him a PO box address, never happened, still owes me 10 bucks, I made the bet with him in September when he said Oilers will finish 5th and Flames 9th hahaha

Haven't seen it mentioned yet ...

but remember the Robert Dome being sent down at camp last year string? Man that was a hostile battle for a 14th forward.

then the Jason Morgan claimed back on waivers string ... that and the string where he left - both told me how hockey addicted Calgarians can be.

BTW ... I have a transcript of the Hudson string. Not sure where the legality is of me posting it though.

I seem to remember someone had a Jason Morgan jersey done right before Morgan was claimed off waivers and he was devastated, then overjoyed at the news that we got him back, and then crashing hard again when we traded him for Nemo hahaha....I can't remember who it was but I sure felt sorry for him, poor guy....

The Kitten thread also spurned the Stillman volunteers at old folks homes so he can break their respirators or something like that.. haha
No, I'm pretty sure that was the Stillman funnels money to Iran so they can continue their nuclear program and support terrorists. Then someone got all p*ssed because they were concerned that someone might read it and think it was true. Good times man...Good times.
It was North Korea, and yes, I got jumped ALL over for that one. Someone else that was the boo-ee of the night did get accused of unplugging respirators though.

I also remember when my "Operation Season Ending Injury" post was made sarcastically about Alice Hemsky, because the Oil fans were talking about how all Gauthier did is try and hurt people any way possible. That one made it all the way onto oilfans and then the trolls started pouring our way full force. Bingo stuck up for me on oilfans though and calmed them down. My savior :boh:

Also I believe it might be FlamesFanInTO that had a series of very strange drunk threads where he made racist comments etc, then promised not to come back for a month or something, and then came back drunk a few days later, and then left for good. (Or was he banned?)

I think that was started by snowdude, a newbie at that time? What a thread that was Glad he stuck around after everything
No worries.....live and learn eh?

Mine has to be TPBM or Some of the great "add the caption" threads from the last board

Actually I think that was on The Score website. I believe it was some beer-sponsored "have your say" kind of a thing.

Another thread that got really heated was about a year or so ago in the off topic forum. I think it was listing your favorite 10 cds and someone had commented that Greatest Hits collections didn't count. A classic brewhaha broke out and the thread was up to 6 or 7 pages.

Not sure if anyone rememebers that one...

Yeah that was me. Compilations still shouldn't count.

Another good CP memory is the chat room after the playoff games.# The 'icarus likes men' night was hilarious.

Yeah, I tried to do that a few times but after the games I was usually so wasted I couldn't keep up with all the posters in here who use the "male secretary" as their secret identities.
Me too, I was gooned and didn't understand all the inside jokes. Then I brought up that some day Sutter was going to be fired like all coaches do. Peddle didn't like that.
I have no recollection of any of this.

I'm gonna have to say this walk down memory lane should be considered one of the best all time. For people like me who lurked in the past, and I still don't consider myself a "key" poster, it's a great way to see how this site has developed over the years.
I've been a Calgarypuck poster for 5-6 years now and I still don't consider myself a key poster.
What is a key poster? Who are the key posters? I thought everyone was key to the forum community? What do you guys mean by this?

I agree. Loudmouths like you and me might have more time than brains on our hands versus someone who is actually smart. Everyone's opinion is worthwhile, even (ugh) yours. Diversity makes it chug.

Listen, all I know is I've been trying to get past the gate keeper for 6 years now and I still haven't found the gate key. I just assumed I wasn't a key poster since I didn't have that.

I'm sorry, did you say something? When I want your opinion I'll give it to you!

I agree Cow, everyone is as important as the next guy. That's what makes the community a community. If it were only three guys it would be called a trio.

Yeah, I wish we could dig up that old post of modano's. It was classic. About 3 sentences of absolute drunken nonsense.

The old summer "how we score 220 goals" threads were good. Purely in self-interest, my post about Derek Morris's dad telling a buddy of mine he was going to be traded and the subsequent backlash was pretty big. For me anyway.

Reggie had a period a year or more ago where he would post only pictures to convey his thoughts. That was classic stuff.

I don't agree with the Lanny papers. Not a classic thread. Not even close.

Maybe we nominate 5 OT threads and five Flames threads. My memory is too poor to remember any ones different from those already brought up. If I have a sudden brainburst I'll post it.

i like robyn regehr

Now THAT was funny. Ans then the ensuing threads about smoking and shopping and whatever else was in that f'd up 11 year old's mind.

The Zidlicky kitten thread was one of my favourites as well.
