Vipers take game one of the Championship series against Gary on a Carlos Duncan two run home run in the bottom of the ninth, 7-6.
Game two is tomorrow. Last ballgame in Calgary until the spring.

Holy crap, what a game!
Vipers were down by 2 for most of the game, tied it up at 5 - 5 in the 8th only to give up another run in the 9th.
Bottom of the 9th, last chance. 1st man up to bat, walked. 2nd man, home run.

HA! I'm out of the province for school and had no idea! Who would have thought when I made this thread that it'd still be going half way through Sept.
Go Vipers Go! Is the game on the radio/TV at all tomorrow?

I tuned into 770AM while sitting at the game, no coverage. Are they only covering the away games?
Vipers almost rallied last night, series ties 1 - 1. Last 3 games over in Indiana.

The games aren't on the radio, but are online...but the Vipers only cover the home games. The away ones you have to listen to the other team's broadcast. you can get that info at qr77's homepage.

Gonna be tough to take 2 of 3 in Gary. Hopefully the Snakes can pull this thing out.

Amazing game last night for Calgary. Down 3-1 late, they scored one run each in the 8th and 9th to send it to extras, then won 4-3 in 14 innings, surviving some very tricky situations. Evan Gruesel pitched 6.2 scoreless innings in relief to get the win.
Game 4 today at 5:00, with Calgary having a chance to wrap it up.

What the hell? Listening to the online QR77 feed right now, thought I would be able to catch the 5th and deciding game, instead "The Roy Green" show is on.

Gary beat Calgary 5-1 to win the Northern League Championship for the second time in three years.

Heck of a season for a very good Vipers club. They did your city proud. (And embarrassed the heck out of the ball team three hours north too).

Sonofa...so close. Those last 2 playoff games here in town were damn exciting, maybe that will bring more people out next year.

Shame they couldnt close it out, but when the best pitching team meets the best hitting team, the pitching team usually wins.
Hell of a season.
Now the fun part: What league are we gonna be playing in next year?

Northern. Although that depends whether P. Dan Orlich, owner of the Edmonton Cracker-Cats pulls his head out of his back side and gets around to fielding a decent team.
...and a decent front office too.
