How Long Have You Been A Member of CP? How'd You Join?

I guess I have been here since end of 2002. Lurked for a few months before signing up.

I think I heard about it from someone on an old Jim Rome board or from someone down here in Lethbridge and then eventually searched for it on google.

Before joining CP I was an active member of Metroboards. There wasn't many Flames fans over there so I decided to find another site and stumbled on CalgaryPuck last March.

Lurked for awhile until I decided this was the place where REAL Flames fans posted

I signed on late 2002. Lurked for quite a while before that after hearing about the board from Mark Stevens. At some time I got Flamed really bad from some oiler troll and it kind of put me off posting for a while so I just kept lurking. Now I realize trolls are trolls and they aren't worth the time of day. Mostly I try to post things that might help people out in the OTF. Some time back I'm sure Francis used one of my posts as a basis for a column.

I joined in 2003 just before the season started, I had been lurking since early 2002. I bartender from the pub I was working at told me about this website that all the hard core flames fans hung out at, before that I was really into playing NHL 2000-6 so I would post at the add-on sites. I visit the site at least 3 times a day.

I only joined a few weeks ago, but have been lurking for about a year. I was an occasional poster on the usenet group since about '95, but that place is pretty much dead now. I generally stay pretty quiet on message boards - mostly just check every day or so to see what everyone else is saying.

I found the board during the lockout....lurked for a while, then signed up prior to last season.

I lurked around for a long time, and I think I joined around 1999-2000, but couldnt remember my password and signed up for a new account in 2004. The site was brought to my attention when an e-mail that Lanny (the CPer) sent to the Calgary Flames was forwarded to the Saint John Flames season ticket holders...at least, that's who I think wrote the e-mail. I still primarily lurk and read, a little tentative to reply or start threads.

I was in as "Junk" (still my name on most boards) a couple of years ago but I guess my user name or password got lost in the shuffle. I finally decided to stop lurking and rejoin with my new name.

I have been here since the beginning. Right after everyone peeled off of SLAM. Was at SJ Nancy board and this one before it was called CP. So long I forgot the name.

Yeah I spent part of my day at SJ Nancy's, part at Cornflake's board (probably the largest split off board from SLAM) and part on Fire on Ice on whatever the heck it was called on (was in Insight or something like that we were first on?)

Was a whole lot more wild and woolly in the old days and it was a lot of fun and I find it boring now --But CP got me started on playing fantasy hockey games(FHLSIM, STHS, EHM) and I spending my time doing that for fun these days.

I have also been around since the old days, probably joined in '99. But I drifted on and off, forgot passwords and user names, etc. But man, it was so long ago when I joined originally, I have no idea how I ever found the site. It's been a faithful friend for many years...

Firefly pointed me here when I finally decided to get internet. I think that was early '04. Three years later and slightly more computer savvy, I'm still here every day. I love you CP!!

I originally registered in 02 but have been reading since 01ish. I lost my old username in the great move of 04 so had to make this one. Seen a lot of changes come and go on this board, the main thing I noticed over the years is the mods have become more stricter, and stressed out. I guess with the influx of members their work load has doubled. I used to be able to get away with a lot more Either way it has been a great board to read over the years and my #1 source for everything hockey related.

I was never really a fan of messageboards. I rarely, if ever, signed up for them and I would only read them occasionally. One day on another forum, I read a couple posters that were actually bashing CP and I wanted to see what the big deal was, so I looked it up. I started reading it and I was actually quite pleased with the amount of information posted. I signed up not really expecting to post too much. I guess that didn't last too long. I have been here coming up on two years now and I have more posts than I ever thought I was capable of racking up.

I was a long time poster at Cf.com since 02 and I lurked here for awhile and never posted. After the shutdown at cf.com I came here and like it or not have stuck around.

Before I registered here I had accounts on the official Flames forum, and when that got shut down I registered on flameshockey. But that wasn't active enough for me so I made the switch full-time to CP. Best Flames forum ever, if not the best hockey forum.
