NIN - the good soldier, capital G, me im not, meet your master, god given, zero sum, in this twilight, the warning, vessel, the beginning of the end, survivalism (in that order)
wait i just named like 12 or 13 songs off the new 16 track Year zero album by nine inch nails. well its just that good. so everyone go steal these right now. don't worry trent doesn't care he hates his record company
Queens of the stone age - era vulgaris (the song off the album of the same name that actually wasn't on the album but was avail for download off the queens site a while ago). although the album is pretty solid too.
just bough icky thump today by the white stripes, better than get behind me satan but not as good as the previous 4 albums imho.
and i agree with everyone who said F11 new album sucks. greyest and tip were classics. s/t and them vs you vs me both lost their edge
the raconteurs album called broken boy soldiers is pretty good, best song was the single level.

k first of all icky thump is not the best song on that album. but if you have the whole album you should know that.
since you hate the whole thing i would suggest you put down the my chem. romance cd or the linkin park or kelly clarkson or whatever crap you are listening too and go to the nearest record store and buy white blood cells by the stripes.
if you don't like that then try and buy a taste in music off ebay.

There's nothing to explain, white stripes is one of the worst, most overrated bands, along with shinguard like arctic monkeys and the like.

Other than the lead singer now looking like a creep, I am really liking the new Silverchair song, Straight Lines

The Libertines you say, I am a huge Arctic Monkeys fan, so I am going to have to check the Libertines out. Any particular album to get of their's?[/quote]
They only have 2 albums: 2002's Up The Bracket & 2004's The Libertines... Personally, I find Up The Bracket a better listen, start to finish it really was a tremendous debut album, and I can see why there was so much hype and hope for them. The follow up was more successful commercially (I think) but I find it lacks a little bit in comparison. Regardless, though, both are great albums and they really were an awesome band with a lot of untapped potential... Particularly in terms of songwriting.
My fav's of 2007:
The White Stripes' Icky Thump
Loudon Wainwright's Strange Weirdos
The National's The Boxer
Arcade Fire's Neon Bible
The Fratelli's Costello Music
Pride Tiger's The Lucky Ones
Joel Plaskett Emergency's Ashtray Rock

Has anyone given Bottom of the Hudson - Fantastic Hawk a listen yet? There are moments on the album that definitely remind me of Guided by Voices. The song "Suffering Time" is currently my favorite song that has been released this year.

Haven't you heard? He's a freak. Of nature.
Terrible joke, I know.
My favourite album of the year so far is The Bad Plus - Prog, which any jazz fans here must go out and buy right away. It's fantastic.
I'm really hoping the new Foo Fighters album is good, but I haven't been super impressed since The Colour and the Shape.
I'm pretty divided on the new Queens of the Stone Age. A couple songs I absolutely love (Turnin' on the Screw, Misfit Love) and could listen to all day, but the rest (with the exception of I'm a Designer) I can't get into for some reason.
Now, time to check out some of the albums people have listed on here.
