The Notebook - a brilliant story featuring two fine young Canadian actors as the leads.

Strictly Ballroom - a wonderful ugly ducking story that never fails to choke me up at the end.

Moulon Rougue - a classic musical that intertwines a great love story.

Titanic - any poetic story of someone reminising about their life, and a lost love, some how manages to get to me.

Finding Forrester - the letter at the end.

You will not be disappointed.

As a matter of fact, I really encourage those who haven't seen it to watch it. I have not met a single person who's seen it say they didn't like it.

You're a Bas Luhrman fan it seems... I am sure his next film "Australia" starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman will get you all watery-eyed as well. Filming starts next month I think.

only thing i can remember that made me suck it in was watching the last episode of Band of Brothers, and at the end the real Major Winters is talking about his grandson asking if he was a hero in the war, and he said "No, but i served in a company of heroes" (roughly). there is no way you can watch that series and that final part and not get emotional

Kremer vs. Kremer is the only one off the top of my head, hit a little too close to home I guess.

Of course for me it has to be The Notebook and I've loved Ryan Gosling/Rachel McAdams ever since.

How about Tv movies?

the Thornbirds, Father Ralph comes home for the funeral of the young
man that was like a son he never had, only to find out it was his son.

Life is Beautiful
Schindlers List
United 93 <- this one really got me for some reason
Lion King <- gotta agree with an earlier post in the thread
The neverending story (when I was a lad) <- that horse in the 'swamp of sadness' and the ending when everything comes back from 'the nothing'

The Mighty was a great flick and pretty moving.

Schindlers List was a big tear jerker too because of the girl in the red jacket.

I remember getting all watery eyed as a kid too because of that same scene in The Neverending Story. Still one of my favorite movies to this day.

"Artax, dont give in! Fight it Artax! Fight it! Aaaaartaaaaaaax!"

Another sad part is when the Rockbiter is sitting and just waiting for the Nothing to take him, and lamenting that he couldn't do anything to save his little friends, the Nighthob and the Snail Racer.

"They look like such strong hands..."

Ah, good call. That was heartwrenching when I was a kid, children should not be subjected to that.

There must have been one or two that made me tear up a bit but I can't think of any now.

I don't get Good Will Hunting making people tear up. What exactly is sad about it?

Well I might not have cried, but I certainly choked up during:

United 93 - gut-wrenching from start to finish
Big Fish - when he carries his dad into the river past all his friends...wow
Bambi - who wouldn't?
Titanic - the sinking scene, the guys playing the violins
American History X - such a shocking and tragic ending

And most WWII movies but in particular:

Band of Brothers
Saving Private Ryan
Schindler's List
The Pianist

All Dogs Go To Heaven - So unfair of an ending, traumatizing for children.

Band Of Brothers - Like a baby at the end

Schindler's List - Nothing really needs to be said

Reminded by other posts here, United 93, as well as the A&E film Flight 93. Both of those are really emotional. But the movie World Trade Center was the worst for me. Not so much sad, but a really moving scene when Nicholas Cage was being removed from the rubble.

I walked into that movie expecting to be exhausted and ruined by the end, and god was it traumatic...

...until he started seeing visions of Jesus and hallucinating...

Thanks for beating us over the head again with obvious messages Mr. Stone :/

United 93 was fantastic and quite the tear jerker...kind of leaves you numb afterwards...

too many to list. I'm a big sap at heart. Band of Brothers is an emotional experience. The concentration camp episode. I still haven't even seen Schindler's List as I'm not sure I could handle it.

And of course, no list is complete without Slap Shot 2. It was so horrible you couldn't help but cry.
