I was drafted 1st overall.
I had arguably, the biggest (not hardest) hit in NFL history.
I was the last player in the NFL to play on both sides of the ball.

Chuck Bednarik destroyed Frank Gifford. He was the last player to play both sides of the ball with any regularity but not the last one to actually do it. William Perry, Deion Sanders, and Troy Brown are just a few.

Bednarik said recently that Deon & Brown were wimps because they played positions that didn't have any contact. With that hit on Gifford, he knocked Frank out of football for 18 months.

In that picture, he told NFL Films that he wasn't gloating or show boating. He said he didn't even know that Gifford was lying there. He said he got off the ground and yelled "this F'n game is over"!

LOL. I don't really know of a position in football that doesn't involve contact. Maybe kicker.

I led my college team to victories in both the Sugar Bowl and the Cotton Bowl.
I signed with the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League, but never played for them.
I am the only player to ever lead the NFL in an offensive category, a defensive category, and a speacil teams category.
Who am I?

Not even close.
Read the hints. I don't think Gale Sayers played defense. And if he did he didn't lead the league in a defensive category for an entire season.
Another hint.
The speacil teams category is punting.

He was picked as the 3rd greatest NFL player of the 20th Century by the Associated Press. 11th Greatest NFL player of the 20th Century by the Sporting News. 4th Greatest College Football player ever by Sport Magazine. 3rd Greatest College Football player ever by the Associated Press. And of course he is the greatest Washington Redskin of all time. He is quite the character as well. If you ever see him on NFL films it is worth watching.

I know you are supposed to win first, but I read page 2 and 3 and had almost everyone, just to scroll down to see that one of you had picked it up already.
I got a good one.
I was drafted first overall in the NFL
I was drafted first overall in the CFL
I played in the CFL because they paid me more
The NFL changed the timing of their draft (to be after the CFL at the time) because of me.

I snubbed the Cleveland Browns after they drafted me #1.
