Huh? Political? What political reasons? Not sure what political reasons I would have for not watching a sitcom.

Well I read some more reviews and talked with a few other people who saw it. Looks like it has some... promise. Wouldn't mind see an episode ....

but my CBC bias tells me this is just another clunker.

Meh. Don't read too much into it. Just sort of remember a thread a while back where you had some thing to say about the violent nature of Islam or something.

Well the wife and I decided to give it a try last night, so we tuned in. About 12 minutes later, we tuned out. I'm actually a big fan of the CBC, but this show is god awful. So incredibly lame. Its Threes Company with Muslims in Saskatchewan. Terrible terrible show. (I wonder what other hilarious "misunderstandings" they can come up with next week! I'm all in a tizzy in anticipation! )

Huge debut for Little Mosque on CBC according to Neilsen . . .

http://www.thestar.com/News/article/169952

Loved this reference in the story to reaction around Canada:

But probably nothing topped the editorial cartoon in yesterday's National Post: two masked terrorists on the sofa saying "This better be good."

Hahahaha.

Still, the concensus seems to be that this show is fairly unfunny so far and not edgy enough.

Can it live up to its advance hype no matter what it does?

You seem to be confusing US and Canada in terms of Protestants: 29% of the total population is hardly a majority.

2.1 million viewers is beyond hype on the CBC. I don't think they've got that kinda response in a long time, besides sports. Granted this was just the first episode, so only time will tell how well this show does. I hope it does well, the CBC needs something. The only non-sports/news show I watched on CBC was Kenny vs. Spenny, but now is on showcase.

I watched it last night - and was a bit dissapointed. But then again, the pilots for most shows suck horribly so I'll try and catch one later one before I finally declare this as unwatchable.

(For the record - I thought the US pilot of the Office sucked - love the show now after letting it get settled in though)

Well I watched Lost for 15 episodes and it never got any better......

I'm torn. I don't want to waste any more time a la my Lost fiasco, but there was some potential in this show....I might try a couple more episodes.
