They could do that but it would be akin to paying Iginla $20 million/year in the NHL today.

I am a casual Cowboy's fan, but having T.O. lose and Garcia win made me happy.

Garica wasn't the reason they won that game, but I can't wait til they play the saints. I'd love to see Philly with the superbowl was McNabb sitting in the players suite lol. I hate that dude.

Just mainly cause its fairly clear he folds his cards in the playoffs/ big game situations. Garica deserves a Superbowl more than McNabb.

I'd definitely disagree with both parts of your posts. McNabb was the only reason Philly was in a playoff position at the beginning of the season. He carried the team, much like he's done for his entire career there. I'd have to say he deserves a Super Bowl more than a guy who's there basically because it's the only team that would give him a job and has proven to have off the field issues, even if they don't directly impact the team he plays for.

I hope that Garcia and the Eagles win the Superbowl just to shut up all the redneck anti CFL (cough cough Jimmy Johnson cough cough Troy Aikman cough cough) haters out there.

I've heard allegations but never "proven to have off the field issues". Didn't this come from T O and how would anybody believe anything that guy says. Anyways it has little to do with playing football.

Has any former CFL QB gone on to win the Super Bowl? Possibly Moon?

Joe Theisman
He QB'ed the Argos in '71, '72, '73 before he joined the Redskins and eventually won Superbowl XVII.

I don't buy that kind of justification. Drinking and driving is still a huge problem in society, and attitudes like "Well at least it's not rape" don't help anything.

Hey, I put a quotation mark around 'almost' to show that I'm not condoning it but in the grand scheme of things compared to the other offences I mentioned, it's kind of common and is usually a lapse in judgement rather than an intentional attempt to creat harm. No where was I trying to justify it, but I don't see how this should effect his football career, which was the reason this was originally brought up.
On the subject of CFL quarterbacks going to the Superbowl. Joe Kapp led the Vikings there but lost to Kansas City. Kapp started his career for the Stamps and later led the Lions to the Grey Cup. He was also maybe the only player ever traded from a CFL team to an NFL team. He also coached for his alma mater California and the Lions I believe. The Vikings coach was Bud Grant, who was a long time player and coach of the Blue Bombers when they were the class of the CFL.
Oh yeah, Kapp never got any respect either.

I agree. The reason I brought it up in the first place was because somebody said he was more-deserving of a title than Donovan McNabb and I think that is flat out unfair and just not true.
The guy has also shown he likes to get into the sauce and he's not the best at handling his liquor, but I agree it shouldn't really matter when you're talking about his accomplishments on the field.

Garcia remembers his roots:
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Football/N...21154-sun.html
"(The CFL) created the opportunity for me to be more well-rounded, to not give up on a play when everything looked to be breaking down around me," Garcia told reporters in Philadelphia. "I found a way to make positive things out of negative situations. Any time you have one less down, you definitely try to make the most of your opportunities.
"The sense of urgency is that much higher."
