How about when you are leaning back on a chair and get to the point where you are on the verge of tipping it back, but then bring the chair back forward in the nick of time.

My brother and I were planning a fly fishing excursion in Montana for me him and the dad for this summer but we have to put it off for a year. Dads retiring soon, and our work schedules don't meet up in the summer well, but I tell ya.. I can't wait. I'll have to keep in touch with ya for good spots, fishing packages etc in the future.

Mine, as many of the ones above me, the majority of them come from my sports "career"....

-Falling down two games to none in the regional volleyball finals back home only to come back, win three straight games, and serving four aces in the fifth set. It was pretty amazing. (What I won't tell you is how we went from being ranked second in the province and sh*tting the bed at provincial and getting seventh)

-Playing roller hockey when I first moved to calgary and having never played in an organized league before...suprisingly, I did a whole lot better than I thought and it was all capped off by a five point night in our finals.

and, finally, every time I get to see my family now that I've moved away.

- sleeping in your bed when it is raining outside

- waking up and looking at your alarm clock and realizing you still have an hour(or more) till you have to wake up

- scoring a game winning goal in soccer at nationals

- sinking the game winning basket at the buzzer in provincials

- downhill sking/moguls/aerials (all a rush)

- nice hot shower after a long day

- warming up from coming out of the cold (having a cup of hot chocolate in the winter time)

- having a cold drink on a hot summer day

- going for a swim on a hot day

- finishing your last class/exam of your semester/year/life

- seeing a child smile because you helped them out (especially a child who is in hospital)

Since I've started working full time (the past 7 months), a great feeling I've come to appreciate is Friday at 5:00PM. I walk out of the building...and don't even need to drink to be happy!

How about the first 'warmth' of the summer? When you walk outside in short sleeves, and feel "warm".

Or just seeing the familiar streets of the city after being away for a week or two.

-watching your favorite team win their respective championship (Saint John Flames, May 28, 2001; I still watch the Calder Cup Game every May 28th, Flames jersey and all)

-having those games in sports where you are just "on". happened to me twice in basketball: last game of the season when i was a freshman (was a bench player but started the second half) and the last game of the next season as well

-proving someone wrong

-being on stage in front of a crowd

-the feeling you get just before you go onstage, like when you are waiting in the wings

-my best feeling ever was, without a doubt, performing the role of The Beast in Disney's Beauty and The Beast when my high school did it for their musical two years ago. Playing to 5 sold out crowds at a professional theatre...signing autographs for the little kids after the show...just everything about it was so surreal.

edit: honorable mention goes to finally seeing the Saddledome in person (alas, during the lockout)

-When my new kitten wakes me up by rubbing up against my chin like i'm a cat or something. He was a rescure kitten so I don't think he had anyone who took care of him or petted him as much as I do. Makes scooping turds from the cat box worth it, lol

-The feeling when you travel someplace new getting off the plane, especially Hawaii, the amazing smelling air, the heat, knowing you're in paradise, ahhhh

-When The Flames score a goal live

There's more but these are a few

[quote=browna;658048]Lots of sports feelings:

Scoring my 50th goal of the season in the final game of our hockey season way back when.

Jarome, is that you???

- Being at the top of a mountain before you ski down and just taking in the view. It is so peaceful and makes me feel so content.

- Having my wife to come home to after work each day (or waiting for her to come after I worked a little that day!) Nothing like coming home to the person you love!

- Christmas Eve by far is the best, just being with friends and enjoying good times together before heading on home (the single years of course!)

- and lastly, the sweet relief of taking a load off your mind! Wow, does that daily requirement ever rank up there for me... rank numbers wise, not the rank itself!!

Getting up in the morning on a cold day, and jumping right back into your warm bed after a shower is quite an amazing feeling. It is no wonder why I never show up on time for work in the mornings.

First organized hockey game was pretty awesome. Spent the week leading up to it just thinking about it non-stop.

Rollercoasters!!!! OMG! I can't believe I forgot that one.... the feeling you get when you're floating. Neither on the seat or jammed against the lap bar.

That is a good one…now if only I could afford a Sage…

One of the best feelings is right after you go from along bike and your body is taking in Oxygen than it needs

And from some reason I love waking up and feeling huge relief that whatever I was dreaming was just a dream the only strange thing is that never remember the dream I just always feel really relived

- When you are somewhere beautiful and you get that fleeting invigorating feeling that you are alive. Can happen in an amazing city, but I usually find it when I am in nature, especially if the scenery is spectacular.

- When you get up on a wave while surfing, and the satisifying feeling right after a day of surfing (or skiing for that matter)

- When you step into the shower after 3 or more days out in the bush

- Just before a hockey game when you have a beer in hand and know you have nothing other than the game to worry about for the next 2.5 hours

- Scuba diving... the feeling of neutral buoyancy. The feeling of independence. Just everything about it. I thought it would be terrifying but it is surprisingly therapeutic and freeing.

- Being with good friends and an open bar

Catching a Tarpon that weighs as much as you do on 30lbs line and spending the next hour and forty minutes to bring it to the boat for a quick release.

Oh and being in a crowded bar and looking across and seeing that a smoking hot girl is checking you out…I am sure the feeling would get better if I could get the balls to go and talk to her….

This I don't get to do anymore. but when I used to skateboard all the time, hitting a rail on the stairs and riding it down to a perfect landing, much better that the board shooting out from under you and landing with the rail in btw your legs...
