The point of this is not to expand teams into Toronto, London or Mexico City ... well, maybe one day Mex City, but it is really all about awareness, and maybe in the long run pave the way for NFL europe to be more global. But the NFL as we know it will not change, they won't be outside the US (AAA farm teams notwithstanding) and even if they did, there is probably 2 or 3 cities in Mexico they would be in before Toronto.

IMO the running game in the nfl is not exciting(and usually if see nfl highlights the passes are highlighted, or pass and runs, not the run-run-run-run-pass-run punt style offensive schemes. and yes i do find the new nhl more exciting then the old(and not becuase of the shootout), i like seeing a team like buffalo do so well and new jersey not do so well. the new vs old nhl is somewhat a fair analogy

Fair enough, I cant say that I knew that about Canadians introducing Football to the Americans.
It is a pointless debate, all about personal choice...for me NFL and old NHL for you CFL and new NHL....its all good.

Didn't canadian fans boo the American team that was playing Russia at one of the games in the world cup that was in Ontario? I think I remember Don Cherry crying about that at some point.
And didn't fans in San Jose or something boo the Canadian anthem in last years playoffs?? So Californians generally hate Canadians then?
Don't buy into stereotypes man. Makes you look bad.

Stereotypes ... it's demonstrated fact.
It doesn't suggest all people from Vancouver hate the US, but certianly enough to gather a criticalmass at a junior hockey game. I know it's happened in other places, San Jose in retaliation to it hapening in Canada, Detroit as a response to Toronto ... and vice versa.
But proudly, not in Calgary.

OK Unclassy.
Booing an anthem. For all the reasons we look down our nose at the US we can sure hold our own when it comes to ignorance.

Yeah whatever. I would probably boo the Russian anthem too. When I go to a game I have no intention or desire to be at all classy. If NHL teams had anthems I would boo every single teams anthem other then our boys of course.

NHL team anthems and country anthems are different. Booing anthems is just straight ignorant.

I'm proud that I'm above booing anthems. You may find people who value things like respect may tend to be a little holier then thou.
We'd say 'typical american' if they did it ... somehow it's ok when you do it?

Hey bud I am a grown man and I will boo who and what I want. You might say typical Americans, but I wouldnt so dont say "we".
You can give me your little song and dance of how proud of yourself you are but I will tell you it doesnt mean sweet tweet to me. I could care less how you view yourself. I can tell you where my values lie, with my family, my child and my parents and booing a national anthem at a hockey game makes no difference on the kind of person I am, so let this argument go, you will not win, its matter of opinion I have heard yours and you have heard mine, leave it at that.

It's not a matter of winning or losing I don't suspect that we could every convince each other of much, just sad to see things like how disrespectful people are becomming.
That's great to hear about your house, but the planet is a little bigger than that.

I guess you've never been to a Hitman game. They'll gladly boo 17 year old kids playing for Lethbridge or Medicine Hat. I guess everybody in Calgary hates Lethbridgians and Medicine Mad Hatters, eh. Give your head a shake and if that don't work, run it into a wall.

Thanks bucko. Are we done lecture time now? Is the next leason lesson on how I am a bad person because i dont attend church?
Get over yourself buddy. It is a friggen GAME, boo'ing a national anthem is nothing to get your panties in a knot over. That being said clearly your panties are knotted, so lets agree to disagree.

Sorry which anthem was booed at the Hitmen game?
Give your head a shake, learn to read, read the thread then run into a wall ... actually save the wall, don't do the last part.

Me learn to read? Nothing in your post that I replied to or mine mentions an anthem. I was sticking to the topic of you being outraged that the American team was booed and you don't have a leg to stand on.
Man, why do I bother.

The whole thing started with Vancouver fans booing the US anthem. read the thread, not just the one post you decided to cherry pick.

It's funny that the English would say "it's like rugby for women" when their football team plays like a bunch of women...

You're giving Canadians as a whole a bad name by booing any national anthem. Seeing as you are a proud Canadian, why would you want to do that?
