Pain and Passion - the History of Stampede Wrestling by Heath McCoy is a fantastic account of the rise and fall of Stampede Wrestling without going into rumors and gossip usually associated with the Hart family.

If you like that, and want a little more in-depth, but still an easy ready I recomend GUNS, GERMS, AND STEEL by Jared Diamond - It won the Pulitzer

Great book, one of my all time favorites. Shogun is also very highly rated, but I myself found it rather slow.
