I'm with Eddie on this one.
That said, my wife and I had planned to go to the Kensington Salsa Festival since we saw it on the news last year. It was hot, but with a breeze, so it was bearable, and we left just as it was getting really busy. The C-Train was hotter than Kensington.
I'm now hunkered down in my basement until it cools off

It is really really hot right now. I wish it would cool down about 5-7 degrees. This weather really makes it tough to run because the heat outside just drains your energy.

I don't mind it too much today, but I'm looking at that graph showing the temperatures all week knowing I'm working outside in it and I just wish I could call my boss up and say, "I'm taking the week off."
This, what we have in Calgary right now, isn't too bad compared to what I'm used to back on the east coast with the humidity. But the problem is, I've been here for 2 1/2 years now and I'm not really used to that anymore.
Hockey season can't come fast enough.

When I lived in NJ, I would rock the A/C until 11:00 am when my mom would start endlessly banging on my bedroom door. "Turn off the air conditioning! You don't give me any money for rent or bills!"
NJ was way hotter then BC. Where are you in New Jersey? I lived in Freehold for 5 years.

I don't mind the heat during the day, but going to sleep is damn near impossible when it's so hot in my house.

Saturday night, both Calgary and Edmonton set record high overnight lows.

I feel like complete crap today, and I blame it on the heat combined with a flu bug. I woke up puking, and now my whole body aches, and this heat isn't doing anything to help.

Heritage Pointe was quite quiet today, not many golfers out. I swear I got a low dose case of dehydration as I have a wicked headache right now, not unlike the low grade hammer that comes with a hangover... Drank 4 x 750ml bottles of water, never had to break the seal once - still wasn't enough.
On the bright side I swear golf balls fly farther in this heat!

This heat is good compared to the heat I've faced in Ottawa.
Few years back I goto my aunt's and uncle's place in Ottawa, visit the family, and go out on vacation. I would go out golfing with him and by the time we come back we are so suntanned, its not even funny. Not to mention the humidity which doesn't help. Makes your shorts, underwear and shirt stick ti you, its so gross. I would shower multiple times a day, even when they had a/c blastin'. The minute you walk out side to grab something from the car, flip the steak on the bbq or whatever, and come back inside, you can feel the stickness on you already.
But I don't mind the few days of heat, its not very often that we have the 'sun come out to play' most of the time calgary is spent shovelling snow off our sidewalks. I enjoy going the the lake to have a swim, fish, take a boat ride. I enjoy having bbq's with friends and family at 9pm and sitll have the sun out. but when I head back inside, its all about the A/C baby can't complain with central air.

The mutts and I walked up to Lillian Lake via Galatea in K-Country yesterday . . . . when we got back to the vehicle at 3 I was surprised to see the thermometer said 34 C or 93.4 F.
Fortunately, lots of cool water along the trail for the dogs to lay in . . . . .
It was 40 in Kelowna yesterday, a new all-time high . . . .

Nothing like having a summer cold in 30 degree weather. Luckily I'm just about rid of the cold.

I grew up in SW Ontario, so I understand about heat+humidity. But I swear the sun is more intense in Calgary. Maybe it is the higher elevation, but here the sun sure seems to pound on me harder than I recall it doing when I was landscaping one summer.
