Best song by Dr. Dre as an artist: Forgot About Dre
Best beat by Dr. Dre: Bitch Please II, from Eminem's The Marshall Mather's LP, is one of my favorite Dr. Dre beats. Or Straight Outta Compton, from the NWA album of the same name. Or Get Your Walk On, from Xzibit's Restless. That's an awfully big library to choose one song from.
Staying on hip-hop for another post:
Nas
Or if no one wants to talk about hip hop music:
Cake

Cakes... Pretty Pink Ribbon
With the band 'Herman Brood pronounced "Broat" and his Wild Romance' he made his best known album 'Schpritz' (a play on the German word for injection needle), Brood swore off most drugs, reducing his drug use to alcohol and a daily shot of speed. When in 2001, he found out that he had only a few months left to live, Herman took matters into his own hands and, depressed by the failure of his drug rehabilitation programme, committed suicide on July 11 by jumping off the Amsterdam Hilton at the age of 54.
