This too on Richmond Road. I used to love going there as a kid. Buffet's rule.

Before I even clicked on the link I was thinking Bonanza. Can't figure out why that chain never made it. I loved the salad bar and ice cream.

Same here. What I don't get is how they can exist in every city between here and Winnipeg; but not in either of the bigger cities.

Piazza Pizza and Steakhouse on 17th ave and 37th street SW was my favourite restaurant in the city. They got a new manager who greatly improved the interior and food, but as they grew more successful, he apparently wanted to set out on his own.
The owners soon sold the location as the value went up, sad times. Did anyone else try Piazza?

Home Food Inn.
Best dumplings ever and everything else was dulishus as well. This one time when I was there for supper, I ate so much that I couldn't breath.

Damn right! Great value. I was a bit of a regular there for a time. Would go there once every couple of weeks without fail.
Fabled Table was also a great suggestion from someone.
I also miss the old A&W Drive-ups like the one on Centre Street N. That was a Friday tradition in my family.

The original Home Food Inn was a tiny place a few blocks east of Macleod near the BackAlley/Denny Andrews. It had maybe 20 tables and 8 parking spots. A woman named Alice had the run of the place. It was good eats.

I missed the Fabled Table (only for childhood memories reasons). It was where the old Blockbuster was on 32ave N.E. Sitting in that spot now is Scotiabank.

I've lived in the area and went buy there at least 2000 times. Only ate there once. I remember it was the first time I had escargot.

Can someone describe to me the Fabled Table? I don't think I've ever been there.

All you can eat buffet, I remember the self serve soft serve ice cream and the endless fried chicken.
The food was mediocre but it was the best as a kid.

I think I know that guy haha. Well, there were 2 owners. Auntie Kim's family and another family from Singapore.
I always thought the Singapore family had the fancy cars.

Were any of the Foody Goody dog/cat/Lauren Pronger rumours true?

3 words:
My Sub Inn
---> It's now a Mr. Sub, but it was a few doors down from the Burger Inn on McLeod Trail by Southland Crossing (in the strip where the Brick is).
I really enjoyed the subs there

Yeah, we head over there for lunch every once in a while. I think it's great food. Excellent pulled pork, that's for sure.
