oh yeah.
bubba ho-tep is amazing, when he's talking to 'jack' on the phone and jack's phone is red - i almost ****ed myself!
not sure if i'm into this 'underrated' idea - i mean everyone doesn't hear the same things aboot a movie - so i'll assume 'less known'.

The Legend of Bagger Vance
It didn't get great reviews, nor did it make a lot of money, but I love that show.
Everytime I see it I talk with a southern drawl for a couple days.

Put me down as another guy who liked Unbreakable, I really enjoyed it.
Two Vince Vaughn movies that everyone should see.. Made with Vaughn and Favre.. brilliant comedy. And another Vaughn movie is A Cool Dry Place, a nice movie about Vaughn as a father with his young son, he really shows what a good actor he is.

Are you talking about Swingers and Made? If so it's with John Favreau. He wrote and directed both too. Swingers is very good and I have yet to see Made.

I wasn't talking about Swingers, but that's a goody too, most people have heard about that one though. No one has really seen or even heard about Made. I hope Favreau and Vaughn team up for another movie together.. that's isn't The Breakup.
A Cool Dry Place is a good romantic comedy type starring Vince Vaughn.

Best In Show. If you know people that treat their dog like a spoiled kid then check this movie out. Eugene Levy is so funny in that movie.

I though Unbreakable was also pretty good. I really enjoyed how most scenes were framed almost exactly like comic book panels. But Signs? Aliens develop intersteller travel and decide to invade a world that's over 70% deadly to them? What were they going to do when it rains?
Glengary Glenross is terrific, and Bubba-ho tep is definately an underrated gem.

I would vote for Freddy got Fingered. Much maligned, to me the movie is one of my favorite 5 comedies of all time, though it fizzles at the end.
positive reviews are hard to find, here's one (registration req'd, NY times review):

I love Unbreakable as well. I think it's M. Night Shyamylan's best movie so far and while the pace is slow I find that there's enough going on to sustain the pace.
I just watched Shaun of the Dead and thought that it was hilarious, a complete fanboy take on the Romero Zombie Flicks. Some people didn't like the humour but that's to be expected from a movie that is filled with obscure references. What I liked the most about this movie is that it's comedic without being a spoof of the Zombie genre.

I was going to post this... Fricking super movie.
Also under rated comedy - Orgasmo!!!
Fight Club was never under-rated.... Unless you think it's not the best movie in the world...
Shawshank Redemption was a huge box office dupe. That is a fricking super one as well.

I have to agree with Memento, Donnie Darko, and Fight Club. Those are three are pretty great flicks that didn't get too much attention when they were out in the theatres. I've had the Special Edition DVD of Memento since it came out a couple of years ago and I still haven't seen the chronological edit of the film.
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is another underrated movie. It's like Monty Python on drugs, in space and actually funny.
