Cowperson--that's a great blog. Looks like where you live is absolutely beautiful. Those views of the mountains made me pretty homesick. Great dogs, too. I enjoyed reading their stories, especially "Keeper."

I'm still having trouble with the image thing...

But in any case, here are my dogs, Huxley and Levi. They've found the only place in the house safe from the vacuum cleaner. (EDIT: sweet! finally figured out how to post images! )

Jade and Belle.. Jade is my kitty and she's just been diagnosed with diabetes so we're likely going to be putting her down...maybe as soon as this week. I've had her for 10 years and I'm really sad that she's sick.

Belle is my mom's cat. She's probably the friendliest tortie you'll ever meet...dumb as a post though. Her hobbies include hiding under furnature, chasing Jade (who's like 15), splashing her water dish, licking plastic bags/walls/socks/my mom's eyelids and rolling around on peoples feet. Just so damn cute though. However she gets scared of everything...if a shoe isn't in the place she remembers it, OH DEAR GOD!

OK- here's Mandy. I got her from Street Cats 5 years ago when they rescued her from the Stamped grounds with a broken leg. She's had a tough life- born on the street, some frost damage. The interesting thing is that even though she was born on the street, now that she has a home she has zero interest in going outside. I can leave the door open and she won't go near it. Best. Cat. Ever.

Er.... with apologies to those who, you know--keep bunnies as pets, I give you this image I created in honour of Huxley's "bunnicidal tendencies."

When I was reading Jiri's post about his cat I could imagine the cat releasing an album.

Why, thank you.

Nice picture from the weekend, Keeper swimming around some bullrushes as some ducks come in to land . . . . . at the lake in the village of Alix in east central Alberta.

Awesome, CP. Taking the dogs swimming is a favourite pastime of mine as well.

Although--and this is weird--one of my dogs doesn't know how to swim. It's the strangest thing. She's a Lab/Weimaraner mix, so you'd think she would be all over it. But she runs along the shore and barks frantically while my other dog is in the water.

I'd teach her--but who ever heard of teaching a dog to swim? They're supposed to just know how.
