That is seriously the Green Party platform?
What pot-smoking 20-year old first-year sociology major wrote that? Pretty much every one of those ideas would not work in Canadian society, for reasons that Incinerator gave, among other ones.
The biggest laugh is that some of you jokers pay heed to this nonsense.

15 years ago is ancient history to people who are 15 years old. To the rest of us, it's not all that long ago.

Just because I'm not 55 doesn't mean 15 years is not a long time

Considering human beings have been farming for more than 10 thousand years, and genetically modifying what they farm for 15, I'd say 15 years is a pretty short length of time. I guess we'll have to disagree on that.
You still haven't given a valid reason as to why the labels are a bad idea. Everything in the grocery store has not been genetically modified so that is not a reason. Cost is not a valid reason either. Do you have a valid reason? I'm really getting the impression that you don't have one.
On a related note, your cute little smilies really drive home your point so keep them coming please.

Politics is the art of negotiating. Their platform is their starting point, but if they were involved in policy making, things wouldn't occur word-for-word like their platform says. It never happens for the Liberals or Conservatives, so why would it for the Greens? There is always compromise in a democracy. Of course, how much compromise depends on the power of the ruling party compared to the opposition. I wouldn't expect, or necessarily want, the Green Party to be in a position of great power, but I think their voice is important enough that they should at least be involved in negotiating policy. That is why I support them.
I also see validity in the Conservative, Liberal, and NDP platforms and think they all deserve to be involved, but I support no party 100%. I want a particular balance in the government.

Nothing I say will be valid through your green goggles, keep looking at the real world with those on and I'm sure you'll do just fine. I stand by what I said in my original beef post as valid until the Greens (or whoever next comes into power from the left) implement an idiotic platform like that and prove me wrong by not making this country into a hippie haven while destroying the economy. Then you can gloat on here all you like about how you were right. Until then keep voting for the sleazebags and the disillusioned socialists if it makes you feel all cozy inside to satisfy your holier-than-thou and unrealistic ideals of the Canadian society.

Hey, whatever makes you feel better, I don't need you to tell me whether I'm pu$sy or chickens**t. Who knows? Maybe I'm both I don't know you and you don't know me out of this internet message board. In fact, I shouldn't even have dignified this pointless personal attack with a response. But what the hey, I got another hour or so to burn so flame away, Flame On.

Laugh.
If you want to stand by this...
(And add another $2 to every item in the grocery stores because all the manufacturers will now have to have informative labels with weird chemical names on them to help you make a healthier choice! I got news for you: 99% of the stuff you eat everyday contains genetically modified organisms in one form or another.)
then be my guest. None of it has any basis in reality but you stand by it!

You & I both know $2 is a sarcastic figure, I'm sure you get the gist of it but if you wanna hound on that all day then be my guest. (Yes, I do stand by that post.) Like I said it doesn't bother me one iota if you don't agree with what is said in my rant. You're just arguing with yourself here.
