In other new, local banks reportedly running out of cash (large bills etc) due to all the people cashing their Prosperity Cheques.

WTF? Is this still the 70's? They all want cash? Haven't these people heard of debit? Or are they all stuffing their mattresses and pillowcases full of money?

I don't spend what I don't have. In fact, I've had a credit card for 8 years and have paid $0 in interes in my life. I actually profit. I got my cheque for my cash back Platinum card yesterday and the cheque was for $265.38
Some folks have to spend what they don't have simply to buy necessities or deal with unexpected expenses that must be paid. You should feel fortunate that you are not in such a situation.

That's good to hear, Albert...but weren't you once a compulsive gambler in over your head in debt?! If so, I'm glad you've turned your life around.

Man,
I know I don't reside in Alberta before, but I think I'll get on the horn to see if my old mail (forwarded to my mum's place) has got me a cheque. That would be a nice surprise, and I would likely save it for my pending trip home during Stampede this year.

If you filed a tax return with an Alberta address you're in.

If they file now they'll get it in March apparently.

I dabbled in gambling before, but it wasn't that bad. It was in the paper a couple years ago.

How did you remember? Do I know you?

No, I remember you mentioning it here.

I'm in the same situation as albert. 3 credit cards with $7,000 limits each, plus a $30,000 LOC. I've never paid a cent of interest. We run a very tight budget here, and I'm glad for it. I'd hate to have to worry about paying my bills every month.

I got my cheque in the mail last night, and the first thing I did was take a picture with it, and also giving the finger to the camera. Then I emailed the pic to all my friends and family in Ontario with the email having the subject "The Alberta Advantage."

Won't be doing that again.
I should think with such a sausagefest you would have pin in your ass.

Has anybody else not received theirs yet? That is, of people who fully expected to have one?
