That was one great game of curling. Being able to beat Mouat twice in the same tournament is a feat, a well earned gold.

Its because the government invests a lot of money into sports at the grass roots level.

I just heard the other day on a radio program that there well over 10,000 sports clubs in Norway.

In the Calgary games of 88, both Canada and Norway finished with 5 medals each iirc.

Norway then decided to do what they did and the rest is history. It was also mentioned that it took decades to see the results but health care costs really started to fall because the population was doing healthy things at the community level.

Oh...and viking blood. Viking blood is legit.

Watched the curling while cleaning the house this afternoon, just brilliant. Felt really bad for the Scots during the medal presentation. they were pretty broken up with a second silver in a row.

Especially up by one to start the 9th knowing they had hammer in the 10th. Basically any scenario there except giving up 3 and they probably feel fine. Frankly they were lucky to not give up 4 though.

Even as far back as the 7th it really looked like Canada was in tough and GB was making their shots. But a couple misses by GB and a couple excellent shots by Canada and all of a sudden it’s do or die.

Being Canadian and Scottish I wanted to see an epic game with the best team on the day winning. And it was a great game.

Having “played” curling, it’s amazing to me the skill that curlers and their sweepers have at these top levels of play. I have never actually played curling; mostly just throwing rocks down the ice and hoping that they travel far enough or mostly stop in time. So it’s always amazing to me.

Congratulations to both teams. And congratulations to Canadian women too! Also a very exciting game.

Crazy that Jacobs has as many olympic golds as brier championships and he's never won the worlds

I would also imagine that if the roles of hockey and cross country skiing were reversed here like they are there we would probably have like 8 more medals.

But ill take 1 Hockey Gold over 8 cross country skiing golds any day

Anyone else think it was a terrible look for Canadian ski cross racer, Reece Howden, ripping on the conditions as he finished last in his quarter final heat? Just seemed like sour grapes as everyone had to ski in the same conditions.
