Probably knew he would be getting a penalty.

Short track seems like a bit of crapshoot, I think being a favorite there is a little less of a lock than most other sports. Hard to say he is a disappointment unless you are really into speed skating, most of us never heard of the guy until a week ago - also I think he pretty much handed his teammate the gold there by causing chaos behind him. Funny it sounds like the two dutch guys who took silver and bronze are actually pretty closely tied to Canada and learned to skate here.

Canadian women looked like they had this locked up and coughed up 3 in the final end

Watching the replay I wonder if this is exactly what he did - he figured he had no chance to win, so made a little bumping to ensure Dubois won.

I think he was trying to move into a podium position but him helping a fellow Canadian is ok by me. Short track is such a crapshoot I have no problem with it. Almost every race I’ve watched has been influenced by bumping or a penalty.

don't know what Homan was doing that last end, lucky not to lose it right there.

Well that was closer than it should have been but glad they pulled it out. How do the playoff hopes look now?

I think it's simple, win tomorrow and you're in, lose and you're out.
If Homan loses, they don't have the tiebreaker against USA or GB, lost to both of them. Korea is in the same boat, so it's a de facto qualifier.

Barely. Sweepers almost screwed that one up. Can't believe they walked away from it after it crossed the hog line thinking it was heavy, only to scramble back for the desperation sweep.

Homan's team had been excellent, and awful. Often in same game.
Just win tomorrow and it's all good

This should 100% be a thing. Would be way better than equestrian, and it actually involves legit athleticism as you help push the sled up hills. Logistics shmajistics.
