Weird trade. Improved goaltending (a bit) and lower the defensive side of the game (a lot). Probably help them get into the playoffs, but I don't think it makes them stronger in a seven game series.

Skinner was always well spoken & classy in his interviews, even after the playoffs losses.
I said at the time he deserved a better team and glad I don't have to hate him anymore.
Not sure he'll be a good goalie anywhere however.

Very happy for skinner though. Seems like a good guy from every interview I’ve seen and now gets to go reset playing with Sid and Geno

The pens have such good responsible centers, which goes without saying, Jarry will only see a center man in his own end during warmup.

Glitter twins happy. They never get close enough to the defensive zone to know the goalie or the D.

And when did an Oilers draft pick ever help them? I mean literally. When? So no need of those two picks. Bowman and Oilers scouts don’t have to be drafting until the Saturday afternoon so they can get an extra long lie that day.

Glitter twins get a new forward to eat those minuses!

Check, check, and McCheck! GM Mavi winning everywhere!

Kept the turnover machine though. Jarry better drop social media.

Jarry got put on waivers last year.

The Oilers literally could have had him for free. Instead they gave a 2nd round pick and a depth defenseman. Lol.

When Jarry is on the Penguins and Skinner is on the Oilers? Yes... but flip teams and... probably not.

Edmonton will miss Kulak more than some think. On a team that is far from consistent defensively, he is actually a stabilizing presence for them.

Small upgrade in net (maybe). Small downgrade on D.

Can one cover for the other? Doubt it.

And it costs them a 2nd and a 3rd, and gives them no cap relief

Gotta wonder if the Grease saw the name Spencer Stastney and thought they were getting one of Peter's offspring.

Rolling out the garbage bin and bringing it back in full. Pretty useless

Given the goaltending market and the current position of their team I kind of get it from the Oilers perspective. They pretty much had to make a move like this. They have 3 seasons of McDavid and then he’s gone.

Not sure this will make a huge difference for them. Seems like another overpaid AHL goalie to me. But I get why they feel it’s worth the gamble.

Hmm...so Spencer Statsney this year....

445 mins in 30 games
1G, 8A, 9P
5 hits (?!)
9 takeaways
22 giveaways (15 in the defensive zone)
1 High-Danger Unblocked Shot Attempt

Seems like a perfect "defense"man for the Oilers

I expect, like many others before him, Skinner will go on to be a good goalie.
The goalie is NOT the problem.

They have the rest of this season with McDavid and maybe next, depending how the rest of this season goes. Then its back to pending UFA status and unless the Oilers want to watch him walk for nothing, they will trade him.

Always liked Kulak as a Flame but was sorry to see him doing well as a Greaser. Can go back to liking him now.

For Skinner this will be amazing.
The leadership of McDavid replaced by Crosby?

Hope Skinner shuts them out Tuesday!

Wow nice deal for the Pens. I don’t know how much of an upgrade Jarry is on Skinner at all. Kulak and a 2nd is also not nothing and the Pens likely flip Kulak at the deadline for a 2nd.

This feels like the Oilers paid assets to shuffle the deck chairs around a bit. Hopefully Jarry plays like he did last year when he found himself on waivers

This looks like it could end up being a terrible trade for the Oilers.

The timing is very on brand for Edmonton too. Hey lets ship out the hometown kid on Dec 12 so he can't spend christmas with his family!
