Sounds like the kind of guys you want during a rebuild doesn't it?

Nice to see Terry Crisp be honored by being admitted into Nashville's Golden Hall

Scoring Winger

this team. yikes.
losing is one thing, but are they ever boring to watch. Just no creativity at all. Tons of permitter shot attempts.
Too much reliance on veteran players that simply have never scored or created offense historically throughout their careers. I love Backlund, but hes not a guy you should be depending on to score when you're down 0-3 in the game. Why is he taking offensive zone faceoffs when the team is down 0-3?
I'm under no allusions that this team has bunch of talent that isnt getting play time, but I expect the coach to play the players that SHOULD or have the potential to create offense. coaching is a problem here.

The Flames have fumbled Parekh’s start in the NHL to an absolutely insane degree.
They’ve slapped handcuffs on him, shown nearly no faith in his skill and ability to play the game.
It’s an embarrassing cluster #%^*.
Zayne has not struggled in any meaningful way. Bad coaching has messed with his play (and likely his confidence).
It’s ridiculous.

Is Francis suggesting, he stays with the team but gets scratched every game? Wow that's great strategy for Zayne's development.

Zayne is tough. He is talented enough but is maybe sending him down better than having him play in Calgary where every game the team is getting beat in all aspects. Personally I would play all the young guys but then you would probably get the Buff, SJ etc., situation where they become used to losing and that is hard thing to change.
|
I agree with you, but I like Zary better at center than Sharangovich. I also think that Farabee would be more effective on the 4th line than either Sharangovich or Coronato.
The other option is to switch Frost back to C, and try Zary on the Kadri line.

Francis - "I start to wonder if teams are targetting up high on Wolf because of his size.. he's tied for last with goals allowed from others area with (6'4 225 pound) Linus Ullmark"
Christ, he proves himself wrong before ending the sentence.

Huska might need to go if he doesn't change his ways soon. Buffalo may be more exciting to watch.
No one's going to pay to watch this product with the important young players only playing every other game.
At least Huska made some good dough for his family.

Yup. This "it's not working" narrative that has emerged the last few games should be directed at the roster construction, coaching, and veterans (relative to expectations that they could be a playoff calibre team). Zayne has been very respectable for a 19 year old D man.
I think people are frustrated not with the results but from the dogged persistence of this franchise to continuously try the same exact things and shoot themselves in the foot over and over again and then wonder what the hell is going on.
Wake up to reality. Stop pretending you're doing these guys a favour by showing zero faith in their ability to develop their best traits on a team that is clearly not good enough (and again, I think we're mostly fine with that part of it).

I dont agree with what Huskas doing at all as ive recently stated. To be fair to him though, that might be what the organization wants him to do.
Trying to stabilize this historically bad tail spin.

No. He said he thinks they are taking their time in deciding what to do ( because he is at 9 games) but he also thinks they won't send him down. And he thinks the Flames don't think sending him down is.a.good idea.either.
He also said they are still determining the direction for.the season - in other words, is it time to.throw.in the towel and.just play all the kids?

But he also added they don't want him getting to 40 games, which impacts his UFA status.

Its not that I want it, its that he's objectively doing detrimental things of his own accord for unknown reasons and it's meddling with this team's rebuild.
Whether his name is Ryan Huska or Optimus Prime, he'd still need to go (unless the approach changes asap)
