I would be ecstatic with 1-18-1 over the first 20 games.

Honestly, looking at the schedule, I think there’s maybe a couple games we have a real shot at winning. The rest — we “should” be losing.

Life sure is good if you are one of Huska's favourites. Sharangovic is so bad he gets healthy scratched, then right out there for just under 16 minutes for a dash 2...including being soft on the puck for the nail in the coffin.

Just waive him and send him to the wranglers to learn how to play again.
Don’t we need his tanking skills with the big club? If he goes down and Gridin comes up we might start winning games.

Not good for the tank. Elevate sharky to the top line. Leave Gridin to rot in the AHL

Like the current required 64% win percentage to get to 97 points?

McKenna next to Celebrini would be magic, with Misa and Smith on the 2nd line.

Or Verhoeff and Dickinson on the same pairing, or on different pairings playing 85% of the game between them.

Either way you slice it, it looks like San Jose is going to end up as a powerhouse in the west. When they start improving, they are likely to once again become one of the more attractive UFA destinations too, even with the higher taxes. I think I have them eventually becoming the scariest team in the west in around 4-5 years.
Or they become buffalo west…

What a reach
I actually felt badly for him on that last shift. He was really good and making plays to keep the offence alive in the zone. And then he muffed the last pass.

If I'm going to watch players get walked and miss assignments, why pay a vet to do this, give the fans something to watch at least let the kids make those mistakes. Tired of this narrative of can't expose them to losing - the amount these guys have played you think they all won every year?

The Pegulas don’t own the Sharks.

And as someone with Mack in fantasy… he’s better than anyone Buffalo has drafted in the last fifteen years.

Including Eichel.

It seems Gaskal can take a sabbatical this year because we may never win again. I miss the ATL.

It was a pretty entertaining game. Backlund scored one of the prettiest goals of the season. Kadri is heating up, Parekh got reps on PP1. Honzek is looking good on the Backlund line and got his 1st point. Zary was generating offense, and looked dangerous out there. Sharangovich was actually winning puck battles and shooting the puck, which is what I want to see. Farabee is a warrior out there on the PK.

A lot more good than bad if you ask me. This team has been looking like a team that's about to snap its losing streak for the last 3 games. So I wouldn't be surprised to see them with 3-4 in a row as soon as this streak snaps.

No idea what you're talking about. But I'm not on team tank - at least not yet.

Oct 8 - win vs filth

Oct 9 - 2nd half of back to back

Oct 11 - 3rd game in a span of 60ish hours

Oct 14 - loss to cup favorites

Oct 15 - 2nd half of back to back

Oct 18 - loss to cup favorites

Oct 20 - loss to PT winners

Oct 22 - OT loss to Habs team off to a flying start this year

Oct 23 - loss to PT winners

So the schedule has genuinely been a gauntlet from hell to start the year. We should see a turnaround here with the team stringing some wins together and getting back into the playoff race. That said, if they lose tonight, I believe 1-8-1 is probably too deep a hole to climb out of.

Can't pass the torch to the next core if you're too shy to expose them.

If ownership is concerned about fan interest should the Flames go down the path of bottoming out that they must trot out their parrot Francis to put a feeler out there, the answer is very simple i think for most every one: Play the kids and we'll show up.

No one wants to watch a 32nd place team play backlund in OT.

Only if a whole bunch of teams in front of them lose every game in regulation while the Flames win those two.

I agree last place is not certain, and in fact the odds are against it, but it's extremely unlikely that everyone else will stand still while the Flames move up the standings. It's not one of my worries, anyway.

Yes, let The Tank sink in! This losing streak is good long-term for the team. Is this tanking sustainable for The Flames, I dunno.

IDK, I see the games as win win. If they win, great because I am a fan. If they lose, great we get better odds at drafting a superstar.

But a historically bad season is not a stench I want on this team.

It would be nice to see some of the kids currently on the team elevate their play and make the Flames more competitive each game. Right now they don't seem to be doing very much with the opportunities given.

That's also a concern.

Winning because the older players play well really doesn't do us much long term good (other than as trade chips).

Winning because the younger players start producing does us much good.

So win or lose, play the young guys.
