Flames definitely didn't play bad. I think that wasn't the sharpest Jets team, but ultimately they matched us close enough and the talent won the day.
Without game breaking talent, this team doesn't have it though. Agree on that front?
They don't have the talent.

That's fair, but I think there are some teams at risk of falling too far out of contention already. Andersson and Kadri should be attractive to them at least.

Draft Pick
|
Flames were the better team tonight 5v5 dominating possession and HDCF of 7 vs. 3 against.
Unfortunately, special teams matter. Total hdca was 17 and only 11 hdcf in all situations. Jets had an expected goals for tonight of 4.05, versus our expected was 3.05
Wolf played really good tonight, the score could have been worse. Lots of in tight dangerous plays tonight. Another goal tipped in right in front with no flames player in the vicinity, and a nice play and finish by Scheifele for the winner.
If the flames could hit the net more frequently from high danger spots/in general and I think we would have likely won tonight. However, I really do think we have a skill issue on this team, but we are going to start scoring more eventually, but frankly, the season is getting iffy already at this point. To get to the same point total as last year, the flames need to play at a 0.6266 pace the rest of the way, which for your information is a 82 game pace of ~103 points. It is of course possible and achievable, but they have really dug themselves a hole (obviously).
Excited for Wednesday!

Game was a coin flip, all the home games have been. If the record wasnt poor we would be saying what a close game it was against a top team and the top goalie.

wtf are you talking about Doug? Gio was my favourite dman for his first 5-6 years here when everyone was on the Phaneuf drug.
I only ragged on him his final 2 years when he was old and washed.
Now timbit is an ex-flame/alumni that was super hard on Gaudreau because he was small... and then he started ragging Wolf after prob because he was small. God damn embarrassment.

Agreed, that would be great to trade all the old guys.

He is washed at 35 goals on a team that can't score? Are you for real?
He had a lot of clutch goals last year.

All these guys except Gridin are playing now at least. And Gridin will be back soon enough.
There will be more vets traded before the seasons end. Honestly there’s no big rush getting more young guys in the lineup, there will be plenty of time in the next few years.

GG by Flames - that's about as good as they can play without winning.
Snakebit team, they missed some grade a chances.
Not sure how you fix that - it is so widespread. They'll have to play their way out. Answer is in the room, etc.

If they play like this against mid or worse teams they will get some wins. Vegas beat Carolina 4-1 tonight. Flames have been playing cup contenders or been on a b2b the whole season

Did anyone notice anybody on the Flames shove anybody on the Jets during any line changes late in the third?
