As for the confirmation bias, give me a break. Every market outside Calgary sees the same thing. Conroy thinks the Flames are better then they are because the team was disguised by great goaltending. The Flames have NEVER been open for business, with the word being we weren't interested in selling veterans outside of Andersson. There is plenty of bias on the board, but its not from those frustrated by the Flames lack or committment to a rebuild.

Conroy knows exactly what he has.

He needs to keep morale high and say the right things.

Hard ball with Zary is a good example of CC knowing what he’s doing. He knows Farabee is a cap dump. He knows Sharkbit is a low probability project. He needs some NHLers for the kids to out compete and frankly it’s a low bar so I’m disappointed kids aren’t stealing those spots.

Huska is not a good coach. But he wants to keep his job and that means winning. When he says he’ll play anyone that helps them win I believe it.

Farabee is 19 months older, clearly Zary is but a mere kid and Farabee is a grizzled veteran.
