-Frost PP unit stinks

Lines:
Gridin-Kadri-Coronato TOI 7:13 xGF 45.19
Farabee-Frost-Sharangovich TOI 7:48 xGF 71.50
Lomberg-Kirkland-Klapka TOI 5:46 xGF 67.44
Zary-Backlund-Coleman TOI 7:13 xGF 70.26

Those numbers look somewhat flattering but the Flames apparently only generated one High Danger Scoring Chance for all game. A bit concerning that they are struggling the same way they did the first half of last season. Huska spoke about it a few times before the season so I really don't think this high volume - low quality style is what they actually want from the players. That said, Demko was good too.
Where are those stats from...they had 8 on natural statrick
I haven't counted but 1 is not correct lol

They had a break away, Coronato missed an EN from the slot

Just sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.

Not sure the score would have been any better with Cooley in. Just not our night. The bounces went all of Vancouver's way, but one could agree that we had very favorable calls and bounces from last night's game. Tough way to start to the season schedule wise, but I do think a 1-1 record to start a two game b2b road trip before our home opener is a win in my books.

The game is a lot different if Coronato buries that gold mine of a chance. A lot of our team need to get a shooter tutor, because we had a lot of missed opportunities.

Yeah 2 of 4 points is pretty good and probably fair

What were people's predictions for back to back starts in opponents barns for their openers coming into the season?

Would you have taken 1-1?

My guess is yes.

It was good hand eye on an individual play. The puck luckily went up in the air though…not like we had a great sequence leading up to it.

You’re right dino, my bad. We’ve looked lethal in the offensive zone. Chance after chance, highly creative.

I think people forget how different October hockey looks from November hockey, and December from November.

It's common knowledge that there are levels that most teams work up to, as their players settle in and find their groove.

I hope we're not as inept as we look so far, but I somehow think that they'll convert on more than one direct shot on net per 120 minutes.

I thought the Flames did well in the first couple period. Don't know what happened with the break-down, and trailing at the third. Oh well, it's only the beginning of the season. Next time!

It's even worse on Twitter/X. You have people completely losing their mind because Parekh sat out again acting like his career is ruined and comparing Huska to Hitler.

A back to back on the first and second games of the season was only ever going to be either a comprehensive win or comprehensive loss for either team, it was never going to be close
I am surprised frankly I was expecting the Flames to dominate just because they had the chance to find their legs already the night before

Yikes! Glad I stick to CP for Flames stuff for the most part!

Parekh clearly needs to be eased in on the defensive side of the house. He has great upside but his D in preseason was a wild scene

I would be shocked if Zayne doesn't play on Saturday

I too expect to see him, and at the sane time have absolutely zero issue sitting him these 2 to watch

He is a smart guy and can see some positives and negatives and listen to his coaches

That’s putting him in a position to succeed

I was at this game, lower bowl seats, brutal. Canucks fans are pretty polite. Frost was the best player all night for the Flames. Coronato appears to be trying too hard to fulfill his new deal, needs to settle down and play. Canucks looked like the better team most of the way after halfway through the first.
