But perhaps you're choosing to be bothered by it when you could laugh at it like every Staples or Spector word scramble. The average person is a complete idiot and I do well when I approach every situation like Ron Swanson in Home Depot "I know more than you".
I just look around the media world and have struggled for quite some time to find more than a few people that have the knowledge about the game and the league that they should in that role. Lots of niche, eastern regional focus. So because of that I just can't get bothered by it.
It's also why I don't get bothered by (except to throw a sarcastic jab for fun) at fans who talk hockey all day like they're one step away from being in team management yet say "who?" when there's a thread about Jackson LaCombe.
