Its always so fascinating to watch the right who preach freedom of speech go absolutely full force into silencing people who they don't like. I mean just the sheer aggressiveness of their reactions to anyone dare mocking or saying anything about their dear young Jesus Mr Charlie Kirk was something to behold.
Labeling Antifa as a terrorist organization, we are literally watching government curb free speech, force news media to conform and go after anyone who dares criticize the administration or the dear leader.

It's a nice thought that they'll do a podcast, but how long before Trump and Co start demanding certain podcasts are removed from streaming platforms, lest those platforms face retaliation? And you know Tim Apple and Spotify will fold when the time comes.
I can definitely see it happening, though I'm not sure if Spotify at least, would fold. A couple of former Presidents asked Spotify to cancel Joe Rogan a number of years ago, but Spotify declined and even put out a statement afterwards, so I can't see them flipping and canceling other podcasts just because this time, a President from conservative side asks. Apple is a different story though...

For a group that hates cancel culture and champions free speech, they sure like to cancel culture and suppress free speech

the whole free speech thing has always been BS, just like the caring about the constitution part. They don't give a duck about these concepts, they only care about what benefits them (and/or hurts the damn libs).

Also a good reminder that corporations aren't your friend, when they appear to support free speech or disadvantaged groups or whatever they only do so when it supports their bottom line. They'll easily abandon those things when it works in their favour.

I refer again to my old law professor Joel Balkan:
Quote:
An eminent law professor and legal theorist, Bakan contends that the corporation is created by law to function much like a psychopathic personality whose destructive behavior, if left unchecked, leads to scandal and ruin.
The corporation’s legally defined mandate is to pursue relentlessly and without exception its own economic self-interest, regardless of the harmful consequences it might cause to others
