So, yes, they are purposely choosing dumb people and likely instructing them to do things that will increase the chances of the aliens getting loose and infecting people.

Given that you need clearance once the alien gets on Earth, but can do whatever you want with it until then, is a good way to encourage crew members and scientists to perform and accept all these haphazard experiments on board the ship too. They are purposely being put on ships that can't actually contain the Xenos, then told to do experiments on them, even though Wayland Yutani already knows everything a scientist, with zero pre-existing knowledge, is likely to gather from the experiments.

The plot of Aliens revolves around a colony of people being placed in cross proximity to the known location of Xeno eggs. In the first Alien, it isn't outright stated, but heavily hinted at that the Nostromo, which was full of rednecks, was purposely sent to the alien eggs, and the androids job was to retrieve a sample.

Huh. That makes sense in it's own grim way.

Is there a 'for why' though? What do these Corporations want to do with these things? Whats the Endgame with bringing very, very dangerous aliens to Earth?

In Prometheus it was "do everything you can to make sure these things dont get to Earth!"

Granted I watched that a long time ago.

In Prometheus, David definitely had a mandate to bring the aliens back to Earth. The scientists they brought along were equally stupid to the ones in Alien: Earth. They did things like take off biocontainment suits and stick their faces into alien organisms.

The whole society in Alien is run by corporations. These corporations are run by a bunch megalomaniacs. Both the leaders of the corporations and the population itself seems to have become obsessed with prolonging life.

The corporations that rule are also involved in a constant state of cold war with each other, where they project military force across the galaxy to secure positions. A major new weapon would also lead to effective control over the "governments'" military forces. For example, the colonial marines in Aliens were a US government force, that was effectively working for Wayland Yutani, to the point that the WY could kill the marines to accomplish their commercial goals. If one of the corporations is supplying the marines with their ultimate weapon, they'd have them under total control.

The xenos are seen as perfect weapons and also have genetic manipulation properties that could extend or enhance life. So the corporations are all over them.

I do agree that the evil corporation thing is a bit hammy in this universe. It's always been like that. I've already complained about the "boy genius" being over the top.
