Kerins is coming along fine, he just seems like a late bloomer. After being demoted to the ECHL, he was a PPG player down there. Then he became a PPG player in his 2nd AHL season earning an NHL call up. Next season he will have an opportunity to make the team out of camp or at least earn more call ups.
It's encouraging that he has shown progression at every level from junior right up to the AHL, but it's not like he has been languishing. The farm system seems to be working as intended.
