I hope it's still as accessible to fans when the new building opens.

It’s basically an orientation session for prospects to meet the hockey development staff and each other. Fitness testing for in-house data records and some on-ice drills to measure speed, shot velocity etc.

It’s a shame though that it isn’t a showcase for the public. There’s few free opportunities for kids especially to develop fan experiences.

This is awesome! Pretty nice vote of confidence for Carter with 2 of the flames big names moving forward!

Maybe the emphasis changes soon . Somehow with Wranglers being here and guys living here yesr round scrimmages set up with Flames vets, Wranglers returnees, prospects can happen on a more regular basis.

If i was a billionaire these guys would be set up to come yearly spend Stampede on training, living, acclimatizing and growing a regular culture.

Id be like the owners of the panthers showing servanthood leadership from the top down . No wonder they're successful, close brothers on that team

That is a model organization off the ice as well . We do good here but could do better .
Take notes Calgary

Well hopefully Vegas gets Gavrikov and that’ll be the end of Andersons Vegas dream. I doubt Vegas will wait on the sidelines for Anderson. They’ll quickly pivot to another player if they don’t think Conroy will cave.

Oops wrong thread!

For those that are absolutely desperate for a look at the two new first rounders doing drills, their three man group is on the ice on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:15-2.30. Part skills and part skating.

That's as insiderrrrrr as I've got.

Of the 24/25 players on the dev camp roster, I think maybe like 8 or 9 will be at main camp. (Lotta college-bound kids and a few Europeans drive that number down.)

They had the goalies on the ice for a little while yesterday. But only the goalies.

Today is when the fun begins.

It’s been a bit slow this morning as the amount of drills going on is a lot less. All of z Parekh, Mews, and Morin look like nhl calibre players. The skill set is obviously higher for Parekh, but the other two look to be in the same ballpark as a guy like Andersson was at the same age. Both very skilled in their own right.

Maceo Phillips is a lot more interesting of a prospect than Kanzig was. Has a very heavy shot. Fairly fluid skater especially for a guy his size. If he can get the passing under control especially in game situations he could be a player. Similar in some ways to Bahl, but you can tell he’s just a bigger person than Bahl is. Could be a real pain to play against him especially if he uses his size effectively.

Was a bit skeptical of the pick at the time (Phillips) but definitely see what the scouts saw. Really like the pick. Wouldn’t be surprised if he made the NHL.
