OK, the story is that the York Hotel will be torn down, but instead of moving these people into a new building, the City of Calgary decided to buy the building in which I live, and convert it to "low income" housing. So I, and everyone else here must move out to make way. Not only has it impacted us, but the neighbourhood is up in arms about it as well.
And all McIver has said is "I'm sorry". Wow, how profound. He didn't even inform Madelaine King (our alderman) that it was happening, let alone consult anyone in the area, including ourselves.
Brutal decision, brutal execution, and horrible results. Thanks for voting Bronco, I guess.
Edit... and I find it VERY odd that as soon as this all occurred, our intercom stopped working (so we can't buzz people in), and a 24/7 security guard is in place, where we never had one before....
