I'm with Bingo on this one. Parekh didn't look out of place at all, he needs to be in the NHL next year as junior isn't going to do anything for him. He needs to play against competition at this level to keep improving and working on his game. I'd say the same for Hunter as well, let the kid play here. His ceiling is definitely higher than any of the guys he'd replace so I think it's worth putting him in.
Suniev might also be a fit too, although I could also see a bit of time in the AHL not being terrible either. At least he brings a bit of size at 6'2 so I'd be inclined to add him in as well.
I'd prefer trading Ras and letting fly with the young kids. At the very least they'll learn and improve, and if we're terrible at least the next two years are the time for that.

Zayne came as advertised.
I thought he held back a bit too, you could see some points where he wanted to activate but decided to play smart and not risk it.
I’m a huge fan already, but it was rookie camp last summer where he was kind enough to stop take a picture and talk to my 2 young boys about hockey and being able to come out and support. My oldest looked him in the face and said “you’re going to be my favorite player” and he just smiled and humbly said thanks.
Fast forward to last night (highlights it was too late for him) he sees Zayne score and turns around excitedly and says “yep told you, he’s my favorite!”
Easily my next jersey purchase, just need confirmation on that number!

In the first 8gp this season, Andersson had 10p and was +6.
In the follwing 75gp, Andersson had 21p and was -44.
I've always liked Andersson but I have a hard time seeing Parekh as being a downgrade given the last 75 games of this season.
Bahl - Parekh may actually be a lateral move, and possibly even an upgrade given PP usage for Parekh.
Replacing Bean, Hanley, Miromanov with a LD UFA signing and/or any combination of Brzustewicz, Solovyov, Kuznetsov, Grushnikov, Poirier is likely an upgrade as well.

Parekh and Brzustewicz were both so impressive. Parekh reminds me of Hughes; Brzustewicz reminds me so, so much of Brodie.

From what I saw of Suniev last night, he needs some time with the Wranglers. He struggled to cope with the speed and was got turned around a lot. He has decent straight-ahead speed, but his agility needs work.

Apparently Demidov's jersey set a franchise record for single day sales bringing in over $250,000. Which is crazy.
Let's try to beat that when we find out Parekh's # next year.

He doesn't skate like Brodie though. Sounds like skating is the big thing that Flames want Hunter to work on.

No he doesn't although I think he plays with a similar amount of poise and has the same underrated skill with the puck. Nice to be a natural righty too. Get Fujita's hands on him and he'll be a speedster in no time.

Trading Anderson is a must for asset management in my opinion.
He’s looked awful for stretches but I really think he’s been playing while injured, not to mention, while his point totals aren’t impressive, his blocking shots and playing like a heart and soul guy is going to be missed to a certain extent.
If other GMs see value in that aspect as well as him being a solid 2nd pair D, we can still get some good value in a trade.
Conroy’s attempts to sign Hanafin and Lindholm long term have me worried though, I feel like what he does with Anderson will be the biggest tell for what direction he’s taking the team.
Parekh needs PP time, needs the reps when holding a lead at the end of a game, graduate him and trade Anderson!

Ah. So instead of enjoying him for what he is we will consistently berate him for not living up to a crazy unreal expectation and then he will leave in his prime?
This is the way.

Would she have been working with him at all throughout this season? I've genuinely wondered if any of the player development staff work with the Wranglers players at all.

I think they could be a pairing as well.
Zayne was the flash and dash but I thought Brzustewicz was really really good and unlucky not to get on the board with that wrap around.
I don’t see skating being an issue for him.
When Charlie Simmer told us the team needs to move their feet I think we saw that with those guys yesterday. Zayne moving to the slot after a great pass to tip in for his goal. It’s such a smart play that we don’t have.
The team was at its best when we had mobile D who created offence. Like Gio and Brodie they didn’t stay stuck to the boards they changed the angles.

Didn't Brzustewicz not sign in Vancouver because he didn't want to be behind Hughes? Ironic that now we have our own Hughes, I could be totally wrong on that though.

He was part of the Lindholm return. But I think the poster meant he wasn’t going to sign with Vancouver.

part of the Elias trade. His unwillingness to sign there may have been a part of it, but hard to say. Either way, happy he's part of the Flames now!

I love this. Above all, he seems to have been raised right. That speaks volumes to me over anything else. I'm happy my boy also has seemed to have found a new idol since Johnny.
I will be surprising mine w a Parekh jersey for his birthday for sure
