Hagel was relegated to the third line after the trade. He started producing when he usage changed.
There is a reason why they gave up 2 first round picks for him.
But your point stands for the premise that you need to give players some time to adapt. No use dumping either one for cents on the dollar, let's see how they do next year.
They look better than their production numbers, but they'd almost have to.

Zayne yes.

I don't think Kerins should be playing tonight specifically. But he should have been back up the first time Zary was hurt, and should have gotten another look this season.
He wasn't really filled in, he struggled in a couple games where the whole team struggled.
vs CHI: 59.7% xGF - 3 GF - 0 GA - 2 points - Team: 59.6% xGF
vs STL: 83.5% xGF - 0 GF - 0 GA - 0 points - Team: 49.8% xGF
vs STL: 51.6% xGF - 1 GF - 0 GA - 1 point - Team: 42.3% xGF
vs WPG: 16.11 xGF - 0 GF - 0 GA - 1 point - Team: 22.6% xGF
vs BUF: 4.5% xGF - 0 GF - 1 GA - 0 points - Team: 51.4% xGF
So really the Buffalo game was his first truly bad game that wasn't the whole team being bad, is on the ice for his first goal against during a 5 game call up, and is then sent down to never be seen again.
I don't know maybe keep that guy up and try to develop him at the NHL level, not just sent him down at the first time of his struggles. Not like Rooney has been so solid that he's irreplaceable in the lineup.

The eye test says that Kerins skating is not at an NHL level. Say what you will about Rooney but he plays with pace.

Not that I know Dryden hunt at all, but I do feel a little bad dunking on him for no real reason. I’m sure he’s a good dude just a symptom of low risk tolerance.

Disappointing. Parekh is a more gifted talent than anyone else on the d he would absolutely help tonight, if 0-6 pp doesn't make a change it's insane.
The whole go with the payers that got you here mentality is weird, you had no choice then, but all of a sudden a top end talent is parachuted into the team and you are consciously choosing to not use him.
Bland like plain toast.

Hunt vs Kerins vs Rooney, isn't the same argument, any of them would be sufficient on the 4th line.
Parekh if played has the ability to have a significant impact on the game, even just his skating ability alone would be better to keep up with the wild.
Huska trying for a 1-0 lockdown win vs Wild.

^ I know, I meant the whole argument of who should be on 4th line. IT's not the same potential impact as Parekh

Nope, if the Flames lose they won't be able to catch the wild.
However Blues need to obtain 1 more win or OT Lose, before the Flames would be eliminated

I'd agree on paper, and Kylington would certainly be better than Bean on the transition.
But man Kylington never did get to that level for me. I'd guess he has one of the worst speed without the puck to speed with the puck ratios of any player in the NHL.

And it drives me crazy. "safe is death" and the Flames have a coach that will take no risk and is safe to a fault.

I agree he's safe.
But not sure any NHL coach would have had Kerins in a bottom six role on this team with how he was getting filled in.
He was top six or nothing.

Yeah that's where I'm at after the team went 0/6 the other night.
Go 11/7 and have him play some PP.

Hunt has the highest PPG on the Wranglers. Not that he is even called up or playing

If you’re expecting to get 100% factual info from a meme it’s you who needs to look in the mirror. Probably also get upset at stand up comedians.
