I just need to know what number he's going to wear to quickly get a jersey

He's not going to supplant Hanley or Andersson (clearly).

Do you try and get Pachal to move to the left side and play him in sheltered minutes on the third pairing?

Or do you scratch Pachal and play Parekh with Bean?

It won't be Bahl, ... he and Andersson get the toughest matchups.

He’ll wear 89 like he did at camp. Can’t see him getting 19 just yet

Just watch after like 2 games he’ll be playing second pairing minutes. I actually think him and Weegar would be incredible together.

66 has been available for a while. Or they could give him 4 and make Andersson wear -33.

That's the style these days. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to see their bare ankles.

If the Flames is going to treat him like a star, he will be able to pick whatever number that is available, including 19, much like our past stars such as Gaudreau and Tkachuk

I know, but this was more than 'the style'. This was taking the style halfway up the shins

11 and 7 could make some sense initially if you’re not comfortable with him taking a regular shift in his first game, get him used to pace etc.

A lot of options to sit on forward without much impact tbh.

It may sound crazy, and there's likely some recency bias but I think I'm more excited about Parekh before he's even played a game than I was about Dion after watching him play his first season - and I loved Dion back then.

Also, a bit off topic but it looks like CHL playoffs are going to be an exciting time of year for Flames fans in the next few years with how well Conroy's been drafting.

I think this is the play. Unfortunately it’s pretty hard to go 11-7 and sit your 4C so it’s probably Lomberg that comes out in this case I’d think?

Gaudreau
Parekh
Bennett
Wolf
Dion
Monahan

That would be my list (wasn't here when Iggy debuted)

Excited to see him in action. From his pre-season interview it looked like he really had a reality check and took that back to the OHL. Everything you see and hear about Parekh he doesn't like the feeling of not being the best in what he does. Excited to see how he takes those pre season and OHL learnings from this year and uses them with the Flames.

Long shot, but really hope we get to see him against the Sharks tomorrow. Give him the 'Wolf' treatment and give him some easy teams to build that confidence early.

Oh yeah don't get me wrong it's more than just those two for me as well, I was just thinking specifically defencemen.

I feel like any way this goes will be good for the organization. We either get him in for some intense meaningful April hockey to whet his appetite for next season. Or he debuts to start next year and we get three full years of Parekh on his ELC.

Win/win.

I don't see why Pachal wouldn't be a suitable partner for Parekh. He's solid defensively (not perfect, but no 3rd pairing guy is) and he can handle the physical stuff down in the corners that Parekh may struggle with. Pachal can skate pretty well, so he could get around in time to assist Parekh if needed.

The only guy I wouldn't want him with is Bean.

They get a full 3 years regardless since he’ll still have the 9 game slide, unless the playoffs actually happen.

I dunno if you want to throw parekh in there prior to some time with the team practicing and getting to know his defensive partner. The games are too meaningful and an unfortunate mistake at an unfortunate time would be tough on the player and the team and the player who is taken out of the line up to make room for him.

I think the April 13 game +/- looks right to me.

Probably side by side with Monahan. In both cases, I was a little worried about their skating, so not as excited as Gaudreau and Parekh.
