I will never forget the hilariously bad overreaction and overthinking of Hartley starting the 4th line in Vancouver. It was a damn reward for them having a goal or two in the previous game, and the rest of the lines looking terrible for a stretch. The message was for the other 3 lines, and Torts just took it personally and assumed it was for him and the team. He really assumed that regardless of who he put on the ice, there would have been a rumble. McGrattan has come out and said in some podcast: "As if we were going to jump the Sedins? Who does that?" That rumble was all on Torts, and yet Hartley gets fined.
I hope he ends up on the Oilers are on another team I dislike. May he send them to the gutter like he has a number of teams under his watch. He seems like a good human, so I don't hate him or anything (though I admit it sounds like I do!! haha). I think he is just a bad coach. I think he gets another job, however, but another poor stop and that will probably be it. He better find a 'can't miss team on the rise'. If I was him, I would be looking at the Sharks as my #1 destination right now. Low expectations, and a tonne of young talent drafted and coming up through the pipeline. I hope he goes to Edmonton, however. Would just add to the slapstick comedy up there.

I like revisiting this from time to time, because the bolded is so true. It was a joke the NHL fined Hartley. It was all on Torts. Then him attempting to storm the room was some ####ing East Coast league level goonery.
Grats is right, they weren't going to jump the Sedins. If Torts was smart (he isn't) he would have started his first line in an obvious line mismatch.
I mean 10/10 entertainment value, but Hartley being villainized by the NHL and media is so dumb. Hartley was both rewarding his 4th line and punishing his first line because of performance in previous games. This is not new or unusual.
