But we do have Dustin Wolf so that’s a moot point. Who cares if we didn’t have this player or that player?

I’m happy to talk about the lottery or the playoffs. Just please don’t be 11-16…

Actually this team is a lot like those LA Kings teams that didn't have a lot of high scoring talent but had a young stud goalie that took them all the way. I am not saying the Flames will win the Cup and they definitely don't have the caliber of head coach the Kings did but we are not finishing bottom 10. And even if we did look at how many top 10 picks never make an impact compared to the amount that do. A top 10 pick doesn't guarantee F all.

Cool. Let's say it's 28% then. I'm not willing to sacrifice this team's futures just to have a 28% chance of making it to the 2nd round this year. That's how the cycle of mediocrity continues forever.
Stay the course. Conny has a long term plan. Let's see it through.

So? This year's Flames have never been in the playoffs. They have four players left who have ever appeared in a playoff series for this franchise.
At this point, the Flames' past playoff history is much less relevant than the overall history of bottom seeds.

Conroy will do the right things. If this team outplays themselves and still sneaks into the playoffs, good on them and the coaching staff.

Oh, I agree. I wouldn’t trade anything. In fact, I’d sell. But 28% is pretty high for the worst seed in each conference. Once every two years one wins.

I'm still cheering for playoffs. I don't want to trade any picks for rentals though. If they make it maybe there is an upset. Also the bellyaching about Wolf being the only reason they are in this spot it so misplaced and silly. Be happy the Flames finally have a goalie who can steal games and is fun to watch.

Failing our way into the playoffs. LMFAO How bad is Vancouver when the Flames lose into a WC2 spot....

We need to get some talent and a top 10 draft pick helps with that.

Maybe...or maybe the player at 17 or whstever is better than the player at 9. Happens all the time. Its really not worth worrying about this much

Huska puts Kadri and Huby 99% of the time to start OT, and Kadri never wins the draw. Other teams put their best faceoff guys to start, then subs off and they ice the guy the want (like canes tonight). Our best faceoff guy is Frost, the one OT game we started with him, we win the draw and had tons of possession. They should adjust this

The Flames don't have a good faceoff guy who is also good at playing centre.

Also it isn’t like last year when they were out and making meaningless comebacks. It’s March and they’re actually in the playoffs.

Frost is at 51%, Backlund 48%, Kadri 47%.

So a four-percent difference from top to bottom. I'd rather have the guy who can make a play happen if he wins the faceoff, than have a guy who probably can't make the play, but has a 4% better chance of winning it.

Faceoffs are a zero-sum game, and 48-52% is not “good”.
