Maybe. If Fox would have signed I think they find another way to make that trade.

Markstrom was named but isn't there because he's injured.

Gaudreau would likely be there if not for the tragedy. RIP Johnny

Am I the only one who had to look up who tf Thomas Harley was after Friedman mentioned him?

I didn’t know Mackenzie Weegar went by the name of Thomas Harley. Cool.

It’s a real shame that we don’t get to watch Johnny set up Matthews or Tkachuk on the power-play.

Didn’t Tre miss out on some trades because he wouldn’t move Valimaki? Ugh.

Stepped away for a few minutes and it’s 5-1?? Well that went south quickly.

Should have pulled the trigger on Stone without an extension. I think we win the Colorado series if we have him in our lineup.

Then try and sign him after a deep playoff run. That was our all in year.

We could not have realistically had Fox in our line up. We drafted him very low relative to his celling due to concerns about him doing exactly what he did. We did well drafting him as he helped with a major trade, but there was no scenario where Fox ever stepped foot on the ice for the Flames.

Any idea why only four teams were chosen for this tournament? Why not the Czechs, Slovaks and Germans?

There was no noise that Fox wouldn't sign before the draft, that's a made up narrative.

Fox was all over the map on pre draft rankings but in most he was in the 50+ range due to his size being a question.

Rankings

McKenzie: 55th
ISS: 44th
Hockey Prospect: 67th
Future Considerations: 36th
Draftbuzz Hockey: 30th
Central Scouting, NA Skaters: 50th

It was a good pick by the Flames and unfortunate he wouldn't sign.

Revisionist history here but damn was bridging Tkachuk to hold onto Frolik a massive fumble by Tre.
