The fat bearded guy who talks down to the corporate heir apparent? And we know almost nothing about them still. It’s been rumoured to cost $20M per episode to make. How long can they keep it going?
I think the goats are just a fun weird trope. The creators said they added the goat scene in season 1 as kind of a fun "WTF" for viewers; as it was popular, they added in the season 2 scene. Im not sure it goes much farther than just randomness.

The belly button thing is a call back to season 1 where the other departments have dehumanizing rumours about the other depts. Lumon's attempt to prevent fraternization and likely rebellion. O&D said they heard MDR had pouches

Clearly I'm the only person who thinks Severance is definitely the most overrated/hyped show ever.
How shall we kill time next? Goats!

I think they may have originally just thrown it in there for randomness, but for sure after the initial reception by fans, they're going to consider tailoring more content to that department. There's been a lot of speculation the goats are foreshadowing of some form of cloning type of idea.

I think they also wanted to show there's multiple departments, but also kinda point to the idea of a sort of corporate brain wash. IRL, employees at time go out and ask people in other departments/companies about their stories and then compare to see whether their experience is weird/good/bad/I gotta GTFO.

Depends on what reasoning is used. It's not the most amazing show ever created, that I'd agree. But in terms of being fresh and done well to the point I'm hooked, I'd have to say it's one of the best in the near memory.

I think the last time I ran into media similar to Severance's weird ride, would be the Death Stranding game.

I don't know about hyped. Its a weird little show that has barely aired any episodes in 3 years since it premiered. Other than in dedicated online discussions like this, I haven't heard another person mention it anywhere. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a weird little show that happens to be the most watched show on Apple TV.

I'm surprised to see it's passed Ted Lasso, honestly. That show seemed to have way more buzz. But yes, I guess it's the most watched show on the 12th ranked streaming service by subscriber count.

Not sure how that impacts whether it has been "hyped" or not

I'm probably out in left field, but it almost seems like the world the Outies live in is just another layer. Generic looking everything, but also a totally hollow empty world. Seth seems to be refining himself, almost like an AI. "The Board" is out in the actual real world.

Damn the Innies are getting some action!

Funny how their work is so important yet there is no supervision. Guess it makes fun of corporate managers with the wrong priorities. Milchick doing his performance review punishment was hilarious.

Once I figured it out, this MDRing is pretty easy.

I still don't get what Huang represents and what her role is.

Not unlike our own?

I think there is a theme in the show about how the outtie world is just as suffocating or trap-like as the innie world. perhaps more so.

No more apparent than Helly and Helena's dynamic. who is actually free.

Watch for Huang to turn out Mark and Jemma’s unknown daughter. And Lumon to be revealed as an aliens’ outfit who had invaded Earth for severing human brains and making them slave robots. I mean, this much is obvious, right? Right?
