Crazy how good Logan Thompson (local boy) stays are for last few seasons and never drafted. Got to be a top nhl goalie.

Folks, it's not that the league doesn't do enough to protect the star players, it's that the league doesn't do enough to protect the Oilers star players.

The league doesn't do enough to protect its stars… because it suspended McDavid for cross-checking a player in the head?

You should probably find a new site to talk hockey on
you only come here to defend the Oilers and pump the Devils

Its also a terrible take...guy crosschecked a guy in the face days after elbowing a player in the head (who is out with a concussion) and finally got suspended. League IS protecting its players.

Nachos were the Oilers best player...they need to blow that play dead. Thompson even admitted he stopped playing because there was stuff being thrown on the ice.

Meanwhile Michaels and Debrusk said it had no impact on the play and that Thompson was crying foul for no reason. Kinda sounds like what they were doing the rest of the game.

Buffalo scores to go up 3-2, keep the Canucks out of that last wild card

Can't watch it but really hoping the Sabres hold on. If we beat them Thursday I can hope for another Oilers loss

I don't give a flip if you agree, I really don't.

Stevens on Lindros
Stevens on Kariya
Steckel on Crosby
Suter on Gretzky

There are probably more examples, but that's off the top of my head. I'm not sure why you felt the need to raise my Devils fandom, not sure how that advanced your argument in any way. It makes you look petty and shallow IMO.

The NHL hasn't, doesn't and won't protect their stars to the extent that the other major sports do.

Did something happen to a star recently that put them in danger? I saw a guy give a violent cross check to another players head but the player who received the cross check was not a star.

haha, I was just thinking Garland is a decent player who will break 50 points probably but not a star and the NHL IS protecting him.

Guy comes to a FLAMES forum to defend an Oiler who crosschecked somebody in the face and then is surprised we don't share his bad take.

Then there was that fellow who elbowed that non-star in the jaw for no apparent reason

Or

How about last playoffs when that guy 2 handed that non-star……

First, I’d like to define who is a star and deserves the aforementioned special treatment. Is there a quota per team?

And this special treatment, should McDavid get less games for literally the exact same thing as another player?

Yeah, no thanks. That’s not the special treatment that helps the game.

I prefer to see headshots removed…which literally is what McDavid did.

I’ll put you down for the Maclean right of way for McDavid rule. That’s what you are hoping for?

If fans litter the ice with debris, the officials should give the home team a Delay of Game bench minor.
