OMG that fanbase, and if this tweet is true, McHobo especially need to grow the eff up. The rules are the rules. You break em and you pay the price for that. No one player should get special treatment.
You wanna be the best of the best? Then do so under the same rule set as the rest of the players in the league.
Such entitlement, my god.

Scale back all you like. Most fans won't miss you. You have the charisma of a carrot.

Not that anyone here cares what I say, but I think the suspension was fine and well deserved. I’m just glad that 10 second mauling he took prior with no call got some good media playtime, and maybe some of this ridiculous reffing can be more addressed. Shame it had to get to this point, but mcDavid has no excuses for that play.

I mean that play took two hands to clap so to speak and was initiated by McDavid hitting Garland open ice near the blue line and ending up first on top of Garland and delivering blows to the back of his head. At this point yes Garland is holding up McDavid, it is a hockey battle in the dying seconds of the third that was started by McDavid and he’s battling. At this point IMHO the ref could have blown the play dead and called Garland for holding and McDavid for roughing and called it a day but they let Connor blow his top and lose his cool completely. The media though blamed Garland for playing hockey because it’s against their beloved McDiva, they gloss over the fact that the whole initial play starts with CM bodying Garland and roughing him after the collision tied them up on the ice. It’s hilarious oil fans objectively ignore the blatant bias from that panel, Elliott goes out of his way to say that McDavid deserves more PPs/should be reffed differently. It’s become laughable.
I didn’t know Mahomes and Curry go around elbowing guys in the head and kicking them in the nuts and expect to get special treatment when someone hits them legally so they throw another tantrum and throw more dangerous hits.

We once witnessed Warrener chop dudes down like Paul Bunyan while on a 6 on 3 with under a minute left, other teams goalie pulled trying to tie it up. At least three of the other teams players were on the ice writhing when the buzzer went. He knew they couldn't go down to 6 on 2 and they also probably weren't touching the puck.
What Garland did was super tame, a sign of the new times and 100 percent what other teams should be trying to do to star players to try to seal the deal with the clock winding down. Sit on the star and don't touch the puck. McAvi has to play through that period.

If the game was played and reffed the same as other leagues as suggested by Edmonton media. Oilers would be on the powerplay for the whole ####ing game.
