5 years at $7 per is $35 million total and he would get a new contract at 30. Say that contract is 5 years at $8 per for $45 million total.
Total career earnings would be $80 million.
Would you offer Wolf 8 years at $8.5 per? Total earnings would be $68 million guaranteed. Then he would need a 3-year contract at $4 per year to match the earnings from the prior scenario.
The guaranteed money should be enough to entice Wolf for 8 years depending on how high they're willing to go.
Personally I'd lock up 8 years at $8.5

Wolf is also very confident in himself, and I can see him being okay with signing a 5-year deal when it's time, knowing by the time that contract is expiring, he'll have already proven he's worthy of a raise.

I think 5-7 years would make sense for both sides.

Whatever the kid wants, as in term. No more hard ball forcing bridge contracts.
Does he want security and what he’s worth on an 8 year 6.8m deal, or does he want a 3 x 5 and another carrot at the end of his stick? Be fair, let him not feel dicked around.
I don’t believe there is any ego with this kid, so there should not be any hard ball negotiations. Conroy is the perfect GM in place for this contract.

I hope they offer him exactly this and if they counter with anything less than Swayman money, you say yes.

Wolf is playing so well I don’t think Vladar is 1A anymore. Play the heck out of Wolf!

I would stick to the plan. Never go more than a week without Vladar paying a game. Hope he gets the start against the Wild. It’s pretty much playoffs or bust now so manage Wolf’s starts to keep him fresh. Vladar has also played well - not to mention the fact that he is pretty much at the top of the goalie trade market right now a sitting for long periods won’t help that.

Playoffs or bust means you play your best goalie as much as possible. He is 22. He will be fresh.

8 x 8
I doubt he'd agree to it though with goalies signing for $10 million + AAV's

There are.2 goalies signed above $10M and neither was a recent signing. Swayman signed at $8.25. Saros at $7.74. Oettinger at $8 25. Only Shesterkin may see more, and that's not guaranteed either.
