Good low risk signing by Conroy. Worth it for the Gordie Howe hat trick against Vancouver.

Don't think he was going to work out with flames anyways, but still sucks for Mantha.Tough for player. One a one year show me contract and had recently come back from major surgery.

Coronato is ready for a full time top six role now. You won’t see him on the fourth line anymore.

Most unfortunate for Mantha. Really hurts his chances of getting a contract next season. Maybe he and the Flames can do a do-over show-me contract for next season, give him a chance at the TDL to go to a contender.

A Gordie Howe hat trick vs the Nucks and a game winning goal vs the Oilers. Has to rank pretty high on the list of all time 13 game Flames.

I feel badly for him. It is never a good time to get injured, but a season ending one, late in your career, on a one year contract is a toughie.

He'll get another contract, but doubtful he ever plays for the Flames again.

I'm not as sure about that.

Its possible this team doesn't have Kuzmenko, Coleman and Rooney next season.

They could give Mantha another look as a guy that can really play anywhere in your lineup and be a bit of veteran competition for guys in camp.

Brutal, I was really rooting for him here. Get well Mr. Mantha.

Its the ultimate nightmare, a player trying to revive his career and set himself up to earn one last multi year contract, and then seeing his season end this early with zero safety net.

Maybe invite him back on a PTO next season if no one picks him up and give him a chance.
I thought he actually looked pretty solid. Assuming his surgery goes well, I see him having another shot in the NHL. The Flames did sign him to a $3.5 million/year contract. Not as though he was playing for league minimum. He definitely brought NHL calibre play, worth that $3.5 million.

Hopefully he finds a way to come back even better following the knee surgery.

Sucks for the player. Sucks for the team, who was likely to trade him for a 2nd rounder or so. Good for Pelletier though. Hoping he makes the best of it.

Mantha played 18 games for the Flames and 18 for the Golden Knights. We're not doing appropriate sample sizes anymore

that's all of his games - how much more sample size do you need?

So ignore those two examples. What are you left with?

Oh sure, one guy crosses the border, skips around the Maginot line and the Frenchman is down for the count.
