Team play was very frustrating to watch if one was expecting consistency, accuracy, sneaky good passes and great defensive work. Even Pittsburgh didn't show much of that...but they DID show that a team that understands being connected can work themselves out of a jam.
Flames did too...but it takes them longer and somewhat more scrappy play to get to it instead of putting on a full-court press like Pitt did here and there.
Fun to watch though although Pitt put on a clinic in the OT, aided by some pretty poor fumbles by Huby and someone else (can't remember whom).
Wolf was excellent...probably wants a do-over on the 3rd goal. Made up for it in spades in the S/O.
I don’t know how the hell we won that game. But I’ll TAKE it!
So used to flames losing that one.
Great character effort after super sloppy and frustrating 2nd period and first half third.

What a beautiful and fun game that was! Damn exciting throughout. It really looks like this year Rasmus just found a bit of confidence to go with his talent! He always had it, but this season he just seems more willing to try and be an offensive difference maker. He has been a great story so far this year.
Kirkland is the feel good story of this season so far. Great shootout winner.
Just an all-round exciting game from start to finish. Hard not to love this team right now.

Happy with the win and the Coiler L.
Wat? they barely had a scoring chance...they iced the puck for crying out loud. OT was iffy all around, Flames had less possession but better looks.

Scoresheet says Pitt had 2 SOG, Flames none.
Looks never went anywhere and Flames gave the puck away at least twice. The name of the game in OT other than scoring, is maintaining possession, which the Pens did rather adequately. For sure, I prefer an OT that's sloppy with lots of chances either way...it's WAY more fun. Not sure coaches would agree.

I mean Backlund and Coleman didn't hit the net but they had HD chances.
You said they put on a clinic is what I was pushing back on, Pens didn't have a quality scoring chance in OT, they held the puck well in the neutral zone I guess. OT was a mess on both sides.
