thought this was an interesting piece about Woj and his decision to retire. Also reveals he's been diagnosed with prostate cancer, but has a good prognosis.

Quote:
Besides, he knew what his family wanted. Amy was ready for him to go. Years earlier, when Woj disappeared into his phone to report a big story—a DeMarcus Cousins injury, Woj recalls—she asked when she would be one. His kids, Annie and Ben, were ready, too. Just before the NBA draft, Woj called Ben. He was leaning toward quitting and wanted to get his son’s take on it. Ben was blunt. “People think your job is great,” Ben said. “I think your job f---ing sucks. Retire—and go travel with Mom.”

Looks like the Kings are headed back to basketball purgatory. Fox is likely to ask for a trade now after Mike Brown ripped him to pieces. Just got up there and started shredding his team. Brown probably is canned as well.

Lmao I don’t I’ve ever seen a coach come out and make case for the team to fire him.

Hey ownership and GM listen up. I suck our best player doesn’t listen to me and the team doesn’t respect me or listen to me either.

The funniest part of that tirade was when he said I told them to play with pace. Push it and kick it. With 3 minutes left we rolled the ball up court and played into set defences. Hilarious.

So they had Brown run a full practice gave a 14 minute interview and had the team board the plane and canned him right before he got on the plane.

I'm not sure who's right or wrong in this case, but if I recall when Brown was with Lebron he was a pretty lousy coach. He was obviously frustrated here and more or less begged to be let go. Probably the best for both parties here, but geez, the NBA is riddled with terrible coaches who get recycled. Brown is one, but Doc Rivers is the chief in that regard.

LeBron is a coach killer. He’s on his 4th coach in LA. He had 3 his first stint in Cleveland before running away. Went to Miami and yeah Pat Riley won’t have that #### and left as soon as he could. Got the coach fired when he returned to the Cavs to get Lue.

Much like McDavid once the coach speaks up it’s time for him to go.

Brown is a good assistant.

But I agree I’ll never understand how Rivers keeps getting jobs.

A lot of coaches coming to bat for Brown. The Kings are poorly run.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard a response like this before.

At the end of the day he’s still getting paid so who cares lol

The Raptors have a less than White Sox winning percentage and there's still 2 teams below them, another that's tied and the Jazz likely also enter the fray if they play two more games and tie the .226 mark. 5 teams at .233 or worse.

It's hard to out tank the rest of the field in the NBA

If there is a positive to the numerous injuries, it looks like we will pick top 5, possibly top 3. But I trust Masai to nail the pick, wherever that is.

Agbaji, Walter, Shead, Mogbo, and Battle have shown a lot of promise as potential bench options for the future.

Poeltl might be the second-most important player to this team after Scottie, even if the rest of the team is healthy the Raptors don't have great odds without him. If the goal is to start the path to contention after this season, the Raptors will need him and another big (like how we had Gasol and Ibaka) - it's hard to watch this team play without a true C.

I wished we had the chance to draft Edey last year, legit bigs are so hard to find

Another blowout loss. I get that losses are very expected, but so many non competitive losses piling up now.

Depressing and frankly embarrassing. So many pathetic no good turnovers posession after possession. It's like the players are giving up even if they have limited talent.

This is the constant issue with Raptors teams for ages. They refuse to philosophically acknowledge that there needs to be a player who can take over a game when most needed. Barnes should have been that talent but seems to struggle at times with the confidence or the will to do it. The rest may put up good numbers but can’t take over the game. It’s next level stuff that they just don’t have. I know that’s oversimplified but it’s a matter of elite talent.

And still not the worst team in the NBA which is hilarious.

The large spread losses are a concern because they’ll eventually kill confidence but they need the losses.

Ya, NBA is the anti NHL. There's no parity.

The NHL doesn’t have parity. They have a loser point.

I see it a little differently. Tons of contenders, just also some very bad teams.
